Unfortunately, to Vegeta's dismay, nothing special happened during or after breakfast. He did catch Goku's eyes every now and then, and a few touches to his thighs, but nothing else. Most likely because their parents were watching. He sat on the porch and watched the men of the house work on the field, a blanket wrapped around his shoulders.

The smaller male sighed and looked around the farm, bored. He glanced at a white, fat cat in the distance, and raised an eyebrow as it kept it's eyes on him. He watched the feline make its way towards the flame-haired boy, slowly realizing it was actually fatter than he perceived it as. Keeping its eyes on him, Vegeta felt uncomfortable from getting the sudden attention and got up, quickly heading inside the house.

"Oh, Vegeta!" Gine spoke up from the top of the stairs. The smaller male froze and looked at her, confused. "What were you doing outside in that? Come let's go get you some proper clothes to wear. You'll catch a cold in those." She waved at him to follow her upstairs.

Vegeta looked down at what he was wearing and shrugged. He loved wearing the taller male's clothes- he's stolen over half of Goku's shirts at the dorm- but he didn't want to get sick again. Without a word, he made his way up the stairs to change.

Goku sighed as he leaned on the hoe in his hands. He and his father were tilling the fields for new crops, though he found it ridiculous seeing how winter was going to arrive soon. But- no one argues with Gine, so he didn't ask. He looked at the place where his little lover was sitting a while ago, only to see a fat white cat looking back at him.

"Oi, Kakarot!" Bardock yelled, snapping his son's attention to him. "Get off your ass and keep tilling! Your friend will be fine." The younger male quickly went back to work, but his eyes kept trailing back to the porch again. He sighed again when he was sure the familiar black hair wasn't going to appear there again and properly focused on his work.

Vegeta peeked his head into Gine's room, feeling as if he was invading her privacy. She waved at the younger boy to come in, her head stuck in the closet. "Come in, don't worry! I wouldn't have bothered to help you get changed if I didn't want you in here."

"Um, thank you . . ." It felt so awkward to the smaller male, so he decided to just stand in the middle of the room. Not touching anything, not causing any disturbance to the mother in front of him, just standing there. He glanced at the woman and cleared his throat. "Why are we in your room anyways? Aren't we supposed to get clothes from your sons?"

He would never admit it, but he respected Gine. More than his mother, at least. She was always so kind, even when he first met her. He recalled acting so snarky at her and her family, because that was what he was taught to do. Claim power, put lower-class people in their places with this power, flaunt this power to your friends, and relish every moment of it.

But he never did relish in those times. He never liked flaunting his power, nor put people in their place.

He did realize that he was wrong, to make others act inferior to him, to prove that he always had the upper hand. Gine was always so forgiving, something he saw in Kakarot too, something he was thankful to have seen in the mindless fool. He blinked and realized the woman was showing him clothes.

"Oh uh, no I shouldn't." He recognized those clothes, the ones he first saw Gine in.

"It's all right, it's not permanent. Just until you get your clothes back, okay?" She smiled sweetly at Vegeta, and he couldn't help but succumb to her choice. She acted just like her son, and he wasn't sure if that was a good thing yet.
