King Yenma glared at the small male as souls moved through heaven and hell. The only sounds were the shuffling and idle chatter from the spirits, as the king and the man both stared at one another.

"So this is where the great 'Prince of Saiyans' hid for a hundred years!" King Yenma chuckled. "I was getting worried I'd have to search the universe for you, but here you are after so long!"

"Shut up, you bloated red fat fucker." Vegeta glared at the demon behind the large desk. "What happened back there?"

"Well what do you think happened?!" Yenma's voice boomed across the room, stopping the souls movements. "You released Frieza's soul back into the living, and on Earth no less!"

"I thought a person couldn't return to the living if they've died more than once, or if they didn't have the dragon balls." Vegeta raised an eyebrow, waiting for the comeback. An uncomfortable silence washed through everyone, even the souls quieted down to listen in on this conversation.

"Of course, that is true . . ." Yenma looked away from the boy's eyes, the confidence in his own eyes wavering.

Vegeta glanced at Dende, and noticed he too, was looking away from him. Those were the only things that kept that slimy lizard's soul here, so how could he have returned? ". . . unless, there are other ways to bring back a demon like him."

The red demon coughed and dismissed the souls, watching them scuttle around quickly to their places and leaving the three alone. Yenma properly faced the former prince and nodded solemnly. "There are . . . other ways to bring a soul back from the dead."

"And we never knew because it wasn't important!" Vegeta raised his arms and gave the king a tight- lipped smile. Gods, he should have beat the shit out of him before he returned to the living before. "Of course, why didn't I think of that?!"

"Silence. There are many ways to bring a soul back, and you somehow managed to do so using an ancient method." Yenma pulled open a cupboard behind his desk and pulled open a scrap of paper. "I don't know how you managed to even do this."

The flame-haired boy saw the paper and struggled to fly to the top of the desk. He needed to see this. It would give him the answer he needed, the answer he deserved. Thankfully he stuck to the landing and tried to read the paper on the desk. "What did I do?"

"You returned Frieza using your memories, Vegeta." The giant glanced at the former saiyan before looking back at the scrap. "Memories of your past."

"Bullshit. How can memories bring back a soul? Especially a soul that I never wanted to see?" Vegeta crossed his arms.

"It's like the story of the pitcher and the crow." Yenma folded the paper and grabbed his feathered quill. "I'm sure you've heard it?"

"Enlighten me." Vegeta grit his teeth and watched as the red demon quickly signed his signature on the paper.

"A crow flies across farms looking for water and finds a pitcher with a quarter filled with the refreshing liquid. But because the pitcher had a small hole, the crow couldn't put its beak in fully and get the water in. So, he used the pebbles across the farm to fill up the pitcher and raise the water. Eventually the rocks raised the water so high it reached the tip of the pitcher, and the crow could finally drink the water." Yenma placed the quill away once he finished and crumpled the paper.

The king blew into a small hole in his hand as Vegeta rolled his eyes. "Cute story, what does that have to do with me and that bastard's soul?!"

"Enough memories of someone can return them to the land of the living. And if I'm right, you have more than enough memories of him, don't you?" Yenma raised an eyebrow and huffed when he saw the color leave Vegeta's face.
