"Thank you again for having me, Mrs. Son." Vegeta bowed and held onto the sunflowers in his hands. He turned to look at Goku, who was in a headlock with his father. He frowned and sighed. The taller male was always doing something stupid when he wasn't looking.

Or maybe he did that just to bother him.

"No worries, it's always fun here when you're around." Gine smiled and ignored her son screaming a battle cry in the distance towards Bardock. "Just one thing for the next time you wanna come here together-" She paused when she heard her husband swear loudly before charging Goku. "Make sure you put a ring on it, m'kay?" The mother laughed when she saw the smaller male's face turn cherry red.

She knew, she knew very well. She knew and she was never going to let him down for it. At least Vegeta had her approval. ". . . I'll try. Goodbye." He turned around and made his way towards the identical pair of idiots that continued to fight. The raven head grabbed Goku's ear and walked away, bidding Bardock a farewell as well. He ignored the complaints and whining the taller male said and made his way towards the truck. "Let's go, we should have been back at the dorms by now."

"Okay, okay! Let go now! Please? OW!" All Goku wanted was to have a little sparring session before he left. He never knew when he'd get the chance to have another "playfight" with his dad again. He did know that Vegeta was pulling really hard on his earlobe, and if he kept his grip he might lose that ear. "I understand, 'Geta! You can let go of my ear now!"

"Hmph, weakling." Reluctantly, Vegeta let go and climbed into the passenger seat. "Hurry up! We need to get going! I need to clean the dorms in case your brother and Nappa ruined the place." He was lying, but Goku didn't need to know that. He didn't need to know that either.

The smaller male kept glancing outside the window, as if he'd see whatever he was trying to uncover behind the colored window. He was sure something wasn't going to be okay by nightfall. He didn't know why, but tonight would be worse than anything. He tightened his grip on the flowers, a few petals falling down.

The flame-haired boy flinched when he felt someone touch him, and he immediately raised a fist.

Goku caught it with ease, concern lacing his eyes. He could see his lover fidget in his seat, constantly looking around as if something would pop out. The sky darkened, but it was still 4 in the evening. The taller male hugged the raven-head, taking off both of their seatbelts and placing the smaller male in his lap. Goku took the flowers out of his little lover's hands, gently placing them to the side before embracing him once more. "Vegeta . . . you need to be honest with me." He whispered, watching the other's movements as his hands ran through Vegeta's hair. "What's going on? You've been scared before, but this isn't because of a nightmare . . . is it?"

Vegeta didn't say a word, instead getting off Goku and back in his seat. He shook his head slowly and looked outside. Light pattering knocked on the vehicle, clear droplets sliding down ever so slowly. ". . . let's head back. I don't wanna walk to the dorms in this rain."

The taller male sighed, and started the car. "Will you tell me everything when we get back?" Silence. "'Geta?" He glanced at the smaller male. He was shaking his head again. ". . . okay then. I won't force you." He carefully reversed out of the driveway before turning back onto the road.

Goku sighed for the umpteenth time as he tried to look through the rain. Nightfall had arrived sooner than he expected, and the headlights were doing him no justice. Vegeta had dozed off to the musical pattering outside, the flowers long forgotten.
