***WARNING: DARK SYMBOLISM***

The silence was deafening, an oppressive void that pressed against your ears. You felt it pulling you down, deeper and deeper, as though you were sinking into cold, dark water. Each breath you took felt heavy, thick, like liquid flooding your lungs.

You didn't want to breathe.
You wanted it all to stop.
It hurt too much.
Please, make it stop.

You no longer wanted to live like this.
Life seemed meaningless—people weren't worth this.

But then—

Everything stopped.

Not the way you thought it would, though.
You didn't feel your eyes roll back.
You didn't feel your body go numb, your thoughts dissolve into nothingness.

Instead, the air grew lighter.
It became easier to breathe.
You looked up.

A faint white light shone from above. Or at least, what seemed like above.
Had this happened before?

You reached out for the light...

Slowly...

You gasped awake, drenched in sweat, your chest heaving. You stared at the ceiling, your mind still trapped in the echo of that dream.

What the hell was that?

***DARK SYMBOLISM HAS ENDED***

At breakfast, you sat with your usual group, your head resting on your folded arms atop the table. You were barely awake, trying to ignore the lingering effects of the nightmare.

"You sure you're okay, N/N?" Andy asked, looking at you with concern, his mouth full of a ham and cheese sandwich.

You groaned loudly. All you wanted was one good night of sleep. Just one—especially after the craziness of yesterday.

"I'm fine, Andrill... just tired. Let me sleeeeeep..." you yawned, drawing out the last word.

You heard Andy choke on his sandwich at the mention of his childhood nickname. His embarrassment never failed to amuse you.

Isabelle, seated across from you, reached out to pat your head gently. "Sorry, Y/N. There, there..." she said apologetically, her hand warm and comforting.

The gentle petting almost lulled you to sleep until—

"Hey! Did you guys hear about that new SCP they brought in?" Andy's voice was far too enthusiastic for your current state. "Apparently, it hasn't talked to anyone since yesterday, except for one researcher who actually got it to answer some questions!"

Bella's hand froze on your head as her interest piqued. "Really? Which researcher? And what SCP?" She leaned toward Andy, curiosity lighting up her grey eyes.

"It was some middle-class researcher. The SCP has a complicated number... something like SCP-34750..." Andy scrunched up his face, thinking hard.

Your stomach twisted in recognition. Oh, no.

"SCP-34570! That's it!" Andy exclaimed, snapping his fingers.

You let out a long, exasperated sigh and dropped your face into your hands.

"What? What is it?" Andy and Bella asked in unison, their eyes fixed on you.

"It was me..." you muttered, scratching at your H/C hair, which for once, wasn't a total mess.
