"Phew! Close one, wasn't it, doll-face?"

Cartoon cat glanced at you, and then looked around the room to see Andy, dr. Greenwood, and Dr. Kimmons.

Your eyes met his for just a moment before you noticed the others—Andy, Dr. Greenwood, and Dr. Kimmons—all frozen in disbelief. Andy stood there, his eyes filled with tears, unable to speak as quiet sobs escaped him. He just stared, first at you, then at Cat, overwhelmed by what had just happened.

Dr. Greenwood stood nearby, shaking, a phone in her trembling hand. It looked like she had been about to call for help before Cat intervened and pulled you to safety. Dr. Kimmons, on the other hand, was paralyzed with shock. His eyes were wide as he held Dr. Greenwood by the wrist, as if stopping her from acting further.

"I—" Cat began, seemingly startled by the audience. But before he could continue, Dr. Greenwood broke free from Dr. Kimmons's grip and slammed her hand onto the security alarm.

Suddenly, the room was plunged into chaos. Red lights blared from the walls, and an ear-splitting alarm echoed through the facility. The shrill sound was almost unbearable, and the atmosphere grew tense and heavy with the sense of imminent danger.

Dr. Greenwood drew a stun gun from beneath her oversized lab coat, her hand still shaking. Andy, reacting just as quickly, rushed to your side and yanked you away from Cat, accidentally grabbing your injured hand in his panic. You cried out as the shard of glass in your palm sent a jolt of pain through your body, but Andy didn't let go, pulling you behind him, shielding you with his stocky frame. His hands shook as he tried to keep you protected from Cartoon Cat.

Dr. Kimmons remained rooted in place, staring at Cat under the pulsating red lights, as if trapped in some kind of trance. He didn't react, even as the situation around him spiraled out of control.

Over the speakers, a robotic female voice announced:

"THIS IS AN EMERGENCY. INFORMATION WILL BE PROVIDED SHORTLY. UNAUTHORIZED PERSONNEL MUST TAKE COVER IN EMERGENCY SHELTERS LOCATED IN HALL 21A AND WILL BE ESCORTED TO SAFETY."

The message repeated, filling the room alongside the relentless alarms. The overwhelming noise, the flashing lights, and the pain in your hand combined into a dizzying sensory overload. You gripped your wrist, feeling the agony in your palm intensify as you cried out.

Moments later, four heavily armed force members barged into the room. Without hesitation, they aimed large mechanical guns at Cat, firing tranquilizer darts one after another. One dart hit him square in the forehead, but Cat merely looked at it with a bemused expression.

"Oh, alright, I guess we're doin' this now?" he said sarcastically, folding his arms and glaring at the force members.

He casually plucked the dart from his forehead and tossed it to the ground, completely unfazed. The force members continued to fire, dart after dart, but each one was removed just as easily as the last, until their ammo ran out.

"Wait!" You yelped, gesturing at the force members.

Desperate, one of the guards reached for a long-range stun gun. Cat's playful demeanor faltered as he raised his hands in mock surrender, backing up against the wall.

The chaos, the noise, and the pain were too much. Anger boiled up inside you. Without thinking, you acted on pure impulse.

You ran toward the emergency panel where Dr. Greenwood stood. Andy tried to grab you, but you slipped past him, ignoring the pain in your hand as you slammed your fist onto the "STOP EMERGENCY" button.

The alarms stopped. The lights dimmed, and for the first time in minutes, everything went quiet.

"FOR GOD'S SAKE, STOP!" you yelled, your voice trembling with fury as you glared at the force members. Your E/C eyes burned with frustration, and everyone in the room froze, staring at you in stunned silence.
