二十二 The allies in the fourth prince's side

Meng Jia Yi received the news of her being detained in her courtyard in excuse of studying on becoming a full-fledged lady. It was the orders of Concubine Ban— for her to leave this yard she has to be married off.

Sure.

"Miss, will this be successful?"

XiXi has been twittering by her side and she has gathered calluses by her overly repeated question.

"We will" she was confident about it, no one would be interested in such a person like her after all; an illegitimate young lady who could only live by depending on her man. "The matter of Matchmaker Ling expressing our wishes to marry the poor scholar... is it already in place?"

"Yes miss, Matchmaker Ling has already informed the scholar" XiXi scoots closer to her side and whispers. "The poor scholar miss' chose has already agreed to meet this slave"

She nodded in understanding, it will only take a month or so before she marries herself off and before that, she needs to collect money.

But unlike any other transmigrator, she wasn't good at cooking and was terrible at it; she has no motivation to live into the palace and schemes to the top; nor was she willing to lower herself down and accommodate her 'future husband' and make him fall in love with her.

Only by working her ass off will she create a life that could belong to her; besides that point, she only knows how to write stories.

"That's right!" She suddenly stood up and shocked XiXi.

"What is right miss?"

"Oh- nothing, I just thought of something that will make a lot of money" with XiXi's curious pair of eyes she explains in further detail. "Since this miss of yours can compose a song or a poem, she can also write a story and let it be sold into the markets"

Her demographics are for those merchants and other travelers; middle-class people that wouldn't track her for knowing too much. It was also in consideration that she must not write anything that is aligned with the future; genres and other writing styles depicting the life of an adventurous kid would suffice.

"That's great, miss! But... will XiXi still stay with you after you marry?" She knocked XiXi's forehead.

"Silly XiXi, of course, I will"

And this time it will happen though only it would be the start of her journey.

...

"The first prince has already moved"

A young man with pale, gloomy eyes says to the minister in front of him. His face was expressionless as if it was nothing but a simple statement of 'The sun has arrived'

The two were seated in a small courtyard, shabby to the point that it was thought that a slave has lived in this place. The smell of incense grew larger than it overwhelms their senses; the cicadas grew louder in the background as their game continues to head to the end.

"How do you know it was the first prince?"

"Even though the Mongolian empire is our enemy it was still undoubtedly strung with military power. Imagine having the backing of the Mongolian empire, who won't think too much of it?"

Tu Yi Guan watched as the white, pebble like stone was placed into the go board, ending the game with the victory of the young man in front of him.

"The prince still won against this minister" he says in slight pity, eyes never meeting the unspecified thoughts that were well hidden into the deep mind of the fourth prince.
