The events that transpired in the wedding banquet between the Han Emperor and the Mongolian Princess were soon known by the public. It caused the common people to panic and create ruckus to leave the capital; women, both mother and wives, were grief stricken for the soldiers that would soon be deployed for the imminent war that was already happening in the borders; those that are not of Han blood were sent to prisons being accused of as spies and beaten out of the streets.
Even so, the declaration of the law to tighten security and prohibit any people from the capital, noble or not, to leave their homes. Anyone to do so will be sentenced to prison, as soon as that announcement scattered in all parts of the street several people who are known to smuggle people to other parts of the world surge. No one wants to be in the capital, no one wants to suddenly die.
"Your highness, the princess..."
"Speak"
Empress Shu Aifen was sitting with soft cloth and pillows on her back and bottom; everything that could pose a danger to her pregnant body was disposed and even the corners of the table and incense was plugged. Several ministers have gathered to her side to discuss about the recent incidents plaguing the capital; everyone knew that the child in her belly is the only offspring of the Emperor who is now bedridden due to the poison that continues to threaten the Emperor's body.
"Princess Mahide didn't survive this ordeal and... several Mongolian envoys have been clamoring for justice for their Princess' death"
Her pale like death lips pursed, she ordered for the Minister to resolve the issue with the Mongolian's first and lead them to the court.
"Bengong will appease the officials" the long nails signifying her wealth and prosperity was taken in fear she will damaged her stomach; it was now short and trimmed as her fingers caressed the buddha beads in her arms. It has now finally found itself back to its owner in just a few days, truly wondrous.
The minister still has a troubled expression, how could the Empress placate those cunning old men, that's more those barbaric Mongolians that are now raging in outrage after the death of their Princess?
"Your majesty have the dragon seed, this old one fears that her majesty would see blood"
"Do not fret, bengong naturally has her measure besides-" her eyes narrowed like a cat who has caught the tail of a mouse. "-there is now a result for this terrifying incident that should be talked with our court officials"
All of the courtiers' heart trembled, no one knew who would be execution or sacrificed. Another clan would be wiped out, nine generation clans that even a pet from that clan will not be spared. A shot of coldness spike through their heads making it numb as they readied themselves to the royal court, waiting for the result to be spoken out.
"The ministers will retire"
Soon all of the officials in two nations gathered in the royal court, each has guesses in their minds seeing the imperial guards circling the whole area. Trepidation was everywhere, they didn't know who's head would fall off from their necks and every second tickling felt lil their lives being sucked out of their bodies.
"The Empress is here!" One of the eunuchs announced and everyone bowed to greet the Empress.
"Rise" Shu Aifen loved the feeling of commanding these higher officials and seeing them bow to her prickled her ego. "Bengong and His majesty is deeply saddened of what Princess Mahide had suffered and for that, we are willing to bestow troops to defeat the Mongolians who are pro- war"
It was said that the Mongolian kingdom was broken into two— one that is pro- war and the other who only wanted peace. Each side wanted the best results for their people but in two different operation. As such, the moment that the Hans have captured the Mongolian Kingdom it was then that the second half of their nation was born.
Lessons, propaganda's and even mock fights were held to pacify the growing numbers and today it has reached a momentum that even those officials in the Mongolian tribe cannot ignore it any longer.
With the Empress words, the Mongolian envoys' eyes brightened and each have guesses in their own hearts. They can only pretend to be calm and accepts the help of the Han Empress, the death of Princess Mahide in exchange of the Han soldiers was like heaven and earth.
There are hundreds of Princesses born from their Mongolian Queen and other higher ranking concubines— the death of one cannot make a ripple in a lake.
"Your highness, we, the Mongolians are very grateful for your help to pacify and reach a peaceful agreement with us two nations. But the matter of our Princess, justice shall prevail and we would like to know the mastermind behind the death of our Princess"
Even if they do not care much of Princess Mahide, it was still their princess and the fave of the Mongolian kingdom. It was a slap in their face and they would have made a ruckus if it weren't for the magnanimous act of the Han Empress.
"Bengong has already investigated and will give justice to Princess Mahide"
At this time, anyone can see the determination in the Empress tone and could only lit a candle light for whoever that person is.
"The poison has activated through the scented satchels as well as the wines that have been drank from the wedding banquet. Bengong has avoided the misfortune due to the dragon's seed but the Emperor... alas!"
"Your majesty is fortunate! It must be the heavens that have helped her majesty to escape this calamity!" One official said and the others comforted the pregnant Empress.
"As per the investigation, there have been sightings of Mongolian men-" all of the envoys of the Mongolian tribes heart tightened seeing the accusing eyes of the Hans but before they could refute the Empress continues. "- and those men have been identified to have a mission— to kill both the royals and officials of two nation. Killing three birds with one stones!"
Officials below from both nations were in panic and outrage; their minds have already punctured through the mastermind that would benefit from the deaths of all of the people inside.
It was those Mongols who are pro- war!
