Summary: Scar wasn't able to make it to one of the Last Life sessions, so when Pearl comes back a little earlier (and much younger in age from the jump), Scar takes care of her for the time being.

A brutal death to charged creepers kept Scar bedridden and unable to join the group for their Last Life session. He'd be disappointed by this greatly, but the past few weeks had been rough, and when he came home in a child's state of mind, all of those problems were amplified.
So apparently multiple charged creeper explosions leave a guy with breathing issues? Who would've guessed? Adding insult to a literal injury was the glitch that left him a five year old as he respawned. Thankfully it wasn't long until the loving MVP Pearl came into the Lanbo to see how she could help. The older teen (as she had experienced many end-crystal explosions, leaving her a tiny child only a bit over a week ago) came in with blankets, a medical kit, and a little pumpkin guy that waved its twig arms. Her stay was quite a few days until finally Scar reassured her that he wouldn't go far outside Boatem without anyone by his side.
But, as he was Scar, he didn't stay home, and got blown up again, this time by a creeper that was not charged but still just as deadly. He'd been messing around his shops and wanted a creeper and skeleton as security guards for his place, and accidentally wasn't watching where he was going—
Well boom. You get the idea.
But this meant that once again, Scar was at home, and with his struggles already towards the difficulty of breathing and back pain, this meant he was told he wasn't allowed to get involved in Last Life. Instead, he was to hang around Cub or Xisuma until everything was completely better, both in age and in physical health.
The group of Last Lifers typically left for a week or more, but Scar didn't really notice their absence. (That could've been due to being younger than twelve for a good fraction of their leave.) It was halfway through what should be their full session when Pearl came back unexpectedly.
And as Scar was now allowed to walk around Boatem on his own (of course, with very protective gear on—and not an elytra as that was not in any way Scar-safe), he could now be responsible for Pearl, who looked to be about six years old.
"Hey Pearl!" He stepped inside her starter base, making sure to open the right door, as Pearl could easily get upset when people didn't follow the "rules" of her house.
"Shoes," she said before he could step in to the house any further, to which he did comply, not wanting to make an issue where it was unnecessary.
"Why're you back before everyone else?" he asked as he walked further into the house, now shoe and hatless because of said rules.
"Boogey's scary..." She took her crayons and pressed them hard against a picture of an axolotl. Pearl's drawing seemed to be a wide variety of color, a bit unrealistic in comparison to the axolotls of their world. "Very scary. And he wanted me to fight! And I don't mind fighting, but when told to do it, I feel sick... and so I got sick... and Scott and Cleo told me I should come home."
"Do you feel better now?" Scar stooped down, and pulled out a coloring page for himself, one of all the different variations of cat. Obviously he started to color the one of Jellie first.
"A little bit." She looked up at him and smiled. It made Scar feel a bit better about this. At least she didn't come home crying.
"So what're you drawing there?" Keeping the spirits up seemed like the best course of action.
"I think they're called axolotls... but Tango calls them Water Kittens. But I can say Water Kittens better and it makes them even cuter! See?" She held up her picture of the blue, green, and orange axolotl that had some crudely drawn whiskers on its face.
