Once Fern had left the house, Sara had found a lighter in the cabinet Fern found the lights in. The fireplace had some half-burnt wood still in it, and after a little while, she got it to start burning. the small little flame danced on the log as it began spreading higher up the log. There. it'll be warmer now. She thought to herself. She stood up and walked over to the window to see if she could see Fern. She didn't know where she went, but she still tried to find her. Something else caught her eye though. A white van, with blacked-out windows. Stereotypical stranger danger type of van. The back of the van was opened. If the back doors opened, then maybe there's someone there. Sara thought to herself. She walked over to the front door and thought for a bit. Should I check? Maybe they'll have a phone that actually works. She twisted the door handle and stepped outside. The van was sitting in the middle of the road, so it's not like it would be weird to go check it out or anything. She could see the tracks in the snow. So, it got here after it snowed! Sara realized. She shined her light inside the van. "Hello? Is anyone there?" Suddenly, something grabbed Sara by the shoulders, making her scream. "Stop yelling!" A voice said as something covered her mouth. Sara tried to get away, as the stranger dragged her into the van. she could feel someone else picking her up as well, and the van door shut. "Move your hand, Peter. I have the tape." A female voice said. As soon as the stranger moved his hand, Sara screamed. "Fern! Help!"
"Shut up!" The girl said as she placed tape on Sara's face. "Now, we only ask a small favor from you." Sara could see them both now. They looked about her age. The guy had black hair and the girl had blonde hair. Something cold touched Sara's neck. "Don't think about getting away either." The girl told her. Sara could see the small knife she had in her hands. "What are we waiting on again?" Peter asked.
"Zack! stupid idiot! We are waiting for Zack! didn't you hear the plan!?"
"I-I heard some of it." He replied.
"Well, the plan only worked a little bit according to plan. I mean, we didn't plan on this one being nosy." The girl said. "As soon as Zack finishes the negotiations, we'll be done here."
Sara's heart began beating. Fern! Is she okay? Suddenly the front door to the van opened as someone jumped in. "Alright. Let's get a move on!"
