Chapter 6

‘Keep dreaming’

Laying on the crash mat in a sports bra and trackies I find myself thinking about those silver eyes. Wolf’s eyes aren’t meant to look that human right?

“Where are you Sia? Any where but here! Come on three laps of the gym!” Standing up quickly I wipe sweat from my brown and push my all ready burning legs forward.

Sometimes I wonder why I do this, I like being fit and I like being able to kick ass. I didn’t like the early mornings and I especially didn’t like the bruises that came with the job.

Jogging slowly I think over my past fights and how each time I had gotten better and better. It made me feel more alive being in the ring also it was somewhere I felt accepted too. Everyone in the underground knows my name, some like me some don’t. But what type of fighter would I be if that wasn’t the case?

“All right, hit the showers. I’ll see you at nine thirty.” Terry pats me on the back as I slow my running down my breath hitched with strain.

“Yeah, bring the game.” I say breathlessly raising my arm slightly; Terry smiles big at me and pumps the air with his fist.

That’s what I admire; he is completely devoted to his fighters.

“Do you always come here at 5:30 in the morning?” Snapping my head round quickly I stand there shocked as Jacob brook’s leans against the door to the now empty gym.

His face has a funny expression on his face; I can’t quite work it out. Walking over to my stuff I shove a baggy hoody over my head and my sports bag over my shoulder.

“Why are you everywhere I am?” I ask him taking a long gulp of my water bottle; he raises an eyebrow with a smirk on his face.

“Did you ever think you were everywhere I am?” He shoots back pushing off the wall and walking towards me. I roll my eyes, great so he’s full of himself also.

“No.” I snap at him my emotions going slightly all over the place, I grimace. What is wrong with me?

“You were out side my law firm, I was invited by your friend to speak at my college and now you train in my gym.” He inclines his head and I let the water bottle hang idly from my mouth. Well shit.

“Yeah well.” I mutter childishly looking at the floor.

“Who was the man?” I look up and shift uncomfortable, he wanted to know who Terry was?

“Oh that was Terry.” I say matter of factly as I start to walk towards the door, this man makes my knees weak and I don’t like it not one bit!

“Why was he throwing you around like some sort of rag doll?” He wasn’t throwing me around! Terry was tough love, but his methods worked it made me better in the ring.

“He’s my trainer and im not a rag doll I can hold my own.” I say annoyed with his angry expression towards Terry it’s not as if Terry has ever hurt me on purpose before, I would hand him his ass if he did.

Jacob stares at me his eyes bright with anger and I feel myself want to push towards him, I was feeling a little hot myself, shit was I checking him out?

“It looked like he was enjoying it.” Jacob says his eyes narrowing as I stare at him questioningly.

“Nice talking and all, but I have to go.” I say stepping around him and walking towards the open door, hoping to avoid anymore tension. I almost licked his god damn face; maybe Harley was right I need to get me some.
