Chapter 10
‘Crazy’
Closing my eyes tightly I wish for the jeep to disappear.
No, it’s still there.
Why is Connor’s jeep outside Harley’s house? It was 8:30am Monday morning and I was picking Harley up ready from ‘work’ which I was dreading by the way.
Narrowing my eyes I watch from my car as Connor leaves Harleys house his face holds a huge grin, I jump out my car and lean on the bonnet. I hope he shits his pants.
“It’s not what it looks like.” Harley steps out from her door an embarrassed look to her features.
“Oh? Because it looks like the guy that made you cry who I also punched in the face, twice by the way is leaving your house after a booty call?” My eye brow raised in an annoyed manner, in truth im not annoyed. Just because I don’t get any doesn’t me she shouldn’t.
“He came to explain and we ended up talking all night.” Harley says flicking her eyes to Connor who is staring at her like she’s the only girl in the world.
Barf!
“Whatever you kids call it, im a virgin I wouldn’t know!” I say sarcastically and Connor snaps his head towards me.
“Really?” he asks surprised and I glare at him.
“She may have forgiven you, I have not.” I say pushing off my car and walking back to the driver’s seat and slumping down pushing the horn.
I was suddenly in a worse mood.

“You could have dressed up a little bit.” Harley scolds me as we walk into Carter & Brooks me sporting skinny jeans and a smartish blouse.
If I was honest I didn’t want to be here. Jacob made me feel confused and nervous and I don’t like not being in control of myself. If it wasn’t for Harley I wouldn’t be here.
“Hi, can I help?” A snooty blonde asks her nose basically pointing at the ceiling; I grimace and look at Harley to answer.
“Im Harley Northton, we’re here from Garland College.” Harleys tone is respectful and she looks business like in a grey suit with a red shirt.
“One moment, if you take a seat in the waiting area someone will be right with you.” She signals to an array of leather sofas and we walk over Harleys heels clattering loudly on the marble floor.
“Why are you so moody?” Harley asks me as I sit down heavily.
“Im not.” I snap at her, that didn’t help my cause, did it?
“Jacob just gets to me.” I say with a sigh, I had told Harley about what had happened, she had chewed my ear off the entire way here saying I was dumb, stupid and careless.
“I think he likes you.” Harley says firmly and I roll my eyes.
“Yeah right.” I snort not even wanting to entertain the thought.
It hurts, I don’t understand why but thinking he doesn’t like me hurts.
“Miss Northton?” Looking up lazily I watch as a man in his forties, short with a round figure walks over offering Harley his hand to shake.
“I’m Craig Carter; you’ll be my assistant for the week.” He sends her a friendly grin and Harley jumps up immediately complimenting him on something or other I have no idea about.
