Chapter 20

*Ishita's POV*

Standing in the middle of Abhimanyu's room I let my eyes roam around. I have been in his room before but this is the first time I am paying attention to the details of his room. His room totally lives up to his personality. Dark and mysterious. The theme of the room is black and white with a hint of gray here and there. There is a wide window leading to the balcony, a closet, and a workspace with a mini bookshelf above it. There was also a king-size bed in the middle of the room with a framed picture of a quote "Always believe something wonderful is about to happen." hanging above it. This is my favorite quote. I remember my nanny telling this to me every night before bed. With a sad smile, I kept my stuff in the closet of Abhimanyu's room and went to take shower.

Abhimanyu is still downstairs helping his mom and buaji settle. Mom asked to prepare only one room as they both will share the guest room on the ground floor. I decided to take shower and change into my nightclothes. I decided to wear a simple cotton kurti and pajama for the night as I don't want to walk out again in my shorts. Also because I would feel awkward with being in shorts in Abhimanyu's room.

I take my shower and wash my hair. Thank god I bought my favorite shampoo from my room. I mostly wash my hair at night as it gives more time for them to dry naturally. As they say, the less heat the better. It's not like I have much to do during the day now anyway but I guess it has just been a habit of mine.

I wear the attire I bought for the night and leave the bathroom with a cotton towel in my hand to dry my hair. I pat my hair with the towel before dropping it on the bed. I explore through Abhimanyu's bookshelf and settle on reading "The one you cannot have" by Preeti Shenoy. It is one of my favorite books. It is one of the books that gets you hooked from the very beginning of the book. I began reading the book and was on the verge of tears when Aman expresses his emotions in the book while looking at the scrapbook Shruti made for him.

The door opens revealing Abhimanyu. I keep the book aside but make no move to stand up from the work desk. He looks at the towel on the bed and then looks at me annoyed. Shit, I was so busy in the book that I completely forgot about the towel on the bed.

Without a word, Abhimanyu picks up the towel and heads to the washroom. He comes out minutes later dressed in sweatpants and a T-shirt. I believe it was already in the bathroom for him to change into. I got up and switched on the TV and started scrolling through Netflix. I make a mental for myself to buy a TV for my room once I start a job. It is frustrating to always go to the living room to watch TV. I finally settled on 'Main hoon na'.

I see Abhimanyu busy with some work on his laptop from the corner of my eyes.

"Ishita pass me the remote, it's time for today's cricket match," he says after about an hour.

"Can't you see I am watching a movie? Don't disturb me, my favorite scene is coming up." I say without taking my eyes off the screen.

I try to hold my laughter when Ram (Shahrukh Khan) comments "Rehne dijiye na, aap ke baal khule hue bahooot ache lagte hai" when Chandni (Sushmita Sen) tries to tie her hair in a ponytail while teaching.

Suddenly the remote is yanked from my hand and the channel is changed. I look up to see Abhimanyu with a smug expression on his face.

"You can't do that, I started the TV first so I decide what we watch."

"Well too bad this is my room so I decide what we watch."

"I am a guest in your room so you should be nice to your guest and let me watch what I want."

"In case you don't know already, I am not a nice person." Abhimanyu settles himself on the sofa with his arms resting on the side of the sofa.

I sit annoyed on the bed. How can someone enjoy watching a cricket match? It is so boring. For a second I think about going back to reading my book. But I don't want to become an emotional mess in front of Abhimanyu. Seeing Abhimanyu enjoying himself irks me so I snatch the remote from his hand and run back towards the bed while switching back to the movie. Abhimanyu also gets up and starts making his way towards me. In two long strides, he is towering over me for the remote. I hide the remote behind my back and take a step back. He took a step forward and before he realized he tripped taking me with me on the bed. I am sandwiched between bed and Abhimanyu. Suddenly the song starts playing in the background

Tum Bhi Ho, Main Bhi Hoon, Paas Aao To Kah Doon

Aakhir Kyun Pal Mein Yun Deewana Main Ho Gaya

I am mesmerized by Abhimanyu's eyes and lips that I keep switching my views from his eyes to lips scared to miss even a slight movement of any of his features. I notice Abhimanyu doing the same thing with me as if he is in the same trance as me. I restrain myself from kissing his lips. This is the first time I am feeling something like this. I so desperately want to feel his lips against mine. We are bought back from our trance by the clap sound in the song.

Tumhe Jo Maine Dekha, Tumhe Jo Maine Jaana

Jo Hosh Tha, Wo To Gaya

Song continues playing in the background.

Abhimanyu quickly got up and moved away, clearing his throat.
