Ishita's POV

To say I was shocked is an understatement. When Abhimanyu entered the room, I expected him to shout at me or angry at me but he surprised me with his understanding.

I settled next to him on the bed, clutching a slice of pizza in my hand. As we ate in silence, I couldn't help but notice Abhimanyu's brief pause when he stumbled upon Main Hoon Na while scrolling through the TV channels. It reminded me of the argument we had the previous night.

Taking a deep breath, I realized it was time to discuss my job situation with Abhimanyu. I couldn't bear the thought of being cooped up at home, dependent on him. I needed my independence, my career. I had never been the stay-at-home type, and the urge to start working again was eating at me. But I had to be careful not to tarnish the Singania name, as we had agreed. I would never jeopardize Abhimanyu's reputation.

"Um, Abhimanyu..." I began tentatively, my voice shaky with nerves.

"Yes?" he responded. Although his eyes were still glued to the TV, his tone encouraging me to continue.

"I really need to talk to you about my job situation," I said, my words spilling out in a rush. "I can't stand being locked up at home any longer. I want to start working again. I used to be a receptionist in London, and I'm confident I can find a job in Mumbai with a decent salary. I promise I won't mention the Singania name anywhere, ensuring your reputation remains intact. I'm willing to do whatever it takes, accept any conditions you have, but I just..." My voice trailed off, unsure how to articulate my thoughts.

I looked at Abhimanyu to find him listening attentively, his gaze filled with understanding. In that moment, I felt a flicker of hope that he would support my desire to work. I had been stifled for months, and I just stay like this anymore.

"No, you are not looking for a job" his reply instantly killed all my hopes. I get up and start to leave...

"If you want you can work as my assistant, you said you have an experience as a receptionist and I am anyways looking for one since my assistant is on maternity leave. You can take her position for the time being and we'll see from there." he finished.

I looked at him in shock. I mean it's not like I want to work with him but anything is better than staying in this hell of a place he calls home.

"Thank you.. Thank you... Thank you" I hugged him while saying this which shocked both him and me.
