Chapter 15
*Abhimanyu's POV*
I was extremely pissed when I left the cafe. How can she leave the house when I asked her not to? She defies me just so she can meet that guy. Maybe that guy is her boyfriend. I was driving recklessly. On reaching home I see that Lakshmi Kaki was not in the house, she must have gone for her weekly grocery shopping and temple. She'll be back in an hour or so. I questioned the guard and he explained to me how Ishita called him to help her with heavy bags and left when he was in the guest room. I was impressed with her plan. Obviously, I fired the guard, if he could be fooled this easily there's no reason for me to keep him as a guard.
I decided to wait for her in her room. I have been waiting for her for half an hour. During which I had multiple scenarios running in my mind. Them kissing, holding hands, laughing. Maybe they went to some hotel and... 'God, Abhimanyu stop'. I regret leaving the restaurant. I should have dragged her with me, only if my clients had not been there in the same restaurant.
By the time she entered the room, I was fuming with anger. And when she chose to lie about her whereabouts I lost it. I noticed how she was looking at my lips when I was caging her between me and the door. I wanted to kiss her for a moment and then her lie came back to me. She asked me to believe her but how can after all the things she had done in the past.
I got a call from my assistant informing me about an urgent unscheduled meeting. I have already left one meeting in the middle all because of my wife. I cannot cancel this one.
I leave for the office not before locking Ishita in the room. She asked me not to but how can I trust her after the stunt she just pulled.
After I was done with the meeting, I decided to complete the remaining work as I was not in the mood to go home just yet.
I hear a knock on the door which forces me to take my eyes away from my laptop
"Come in," I say and see my assistant coming into the office with an envelope in her hand.
"Sir, I am here to drop my maternal leave notice. I'll be going on leave for 3 months starting next week. I have already informed the HR department to hire a temporary assistant for you." She explained and handed me the notice.
"Okay, let me know if you need anything during your leave. And Congratulations again for the baby." I say. She leaves the office saying Thank you.
She is good with her job. I don't know if I'll be able to find someone as good as her even if it's for 3 months.
Since she is going on leave I decided to look into the things she was handling so that I can explain it to the temporary assistant in case we are not able to hire someone before her leave starts.
Once I was done with my work, I looked at the time and saw that it was midnight. I locked Ishita in the room which means she didn't have her dinner. As soon as the thought reaches my mind, guilt engulfs me. I close the laptop and leave the office.
My cabin is soundproof due to which I didn't realize about the storm. I drive fast to reach home.
As soon as I enter home I notice that there are no lights. I try to turn on the switch and realize that there is a power cut. I turn on the flashlight in my mobile phone and make my way towards Ishita's room, I unlock the door and cannot find her anywhere in the room. Did she leave? There is no way she can leave. Her room is on the first floor and she cannot jump from this high, can she?
I hear some mumbling sound from the closet. I open the closet and see Ishita sitting with her head in between her knees mumbling something and shaking terribly. She looks in the direction of the door trying to focus. I kneel in front of her and before I can see anything she passed out. I carry her to the bed and call the doctor.
