CHAPTER ONE:
It has been two weeks since our marriage. I am now officially Ishita Saxena. It's been two weeks since my partnership-marriage with Abhimanyu. I can't say it's a marriage because it's not. We are husband and wife but only on paper. In reality, we are acquaintances. We don't know each other.
The wedding was simple, there was not much time to prepare so the invitations were limited meaning only family and close friends. Soon after all the rituals, a couple of paparazzi came barging into our reception to cover the million worth of marriage. It was great news coverage for them.
Between all this, I was not able to get alone time with Abhimanyu to talk to him. And now we are married. I don't know how and when to talk to Abhimanyu.
We shared the room only on our wedding night. The house was full of relatives and his parents; we didn't have any other option. I can't help but think of the first and only night we had spent together. I don't remember seeing him in his own house. That night he made it clear that he didn't want to progress anything between us.
*Flashback*
I was sitting in the middle of the bed waiting for him. I am too tired to wait any longer for him. So I decided to take a shower.
While I was in the shower I heard the door open and close after a few seconds. Maybe he finally decided to come to his room. After I finish the shower I grab the towel and rinse myself followed by my hair. I quickly wear my nightwear and leave the bathroom.
As soon as I entered the bedroom he noticed me and looked at me for a few seconds and averted his eyes quickly. He grabbed some pillows and an extra comforter and laid them on the couch.
"What are you doing?" I asked dumbly.
"Making my bed" he replied in a duh-tone.
"You can sleep on the bed," I said. It was his room. Even I am not comfortable sharing a bed with him, who is basically a stranger to me. I know he is my husband but know nothing about him. If he doesn't want to share a bed with me then it should be me sleeping on the couch not him.
"Sleep on the bed with you, no thanks," he said with venom in his voice. It gave me the idea that he hates me.
I replied to him with hmm and made my way to the bed. I guess he noticed the hurt in my voice because he stopped mid-way and sighed. He threw the pillow and sat on the couch.
"Look I know we are married but don't expect anything from this marriage. I don't want this marriage. I married you because my dad said so. He said if I marry you, he will step down from the CEO position, so I did what he asked me to. This marriage is nothing but a business deal. Ishita, I know who you are in reality so stop pretending and don't expect anything from me as a husband. If I had a choice I would have married anyone except you. Sure you can show off your Saxena title and do anything you wish but we are strangers, bound in this marriage. I am stuck in this with you. I will soon find a way then I will free you and myself with high compensation and then you can enjoy your life the way you want" he finished his little speech and without waiting for my reply or reaction he switched off the light and lays on the couch, closing his eyes.
I was left with my thoughts in the middle of the room processing everything he just said.
It's pretty clear that he hates me. Why? Does he hate me because of my reputation in college? Or maybe he knows about my secret which I wanted to tell him from the day our marriage was announced. Maybe he thinks I lied to him and hates me for it.
