Chapter 33:

When Abhimanyu said lunch I thought we'll be going across the street to grab something quick to eat but here we are in one of the most expensive restuarant in the town. Apparently this is Abhimanyu's one of the favourite places, as he mentioned during the ride here. I have never been here as my dad was always busy with his work when I was young to take me anywhere and this is not the type of place my friends in college preferred. We always used to hang out either in college canteen or small cozy cafes. I moved to London right after my college after that dreadful incident.

I block the thought as soon as it enters my head pushing the painful memories at the back of my mind. The secret I wanted to tell Abhimanyu before marriage and dropped the plan of telling him on the first night of our marriage once he told me he plans to divorce me once the six months are over. There is no point in sharing something painful and personal with someone who is just temporary in your live. I have just three more months that I have to share with him than we'll be going our separate ways.

"Hello, Mr Saxena... Mrs Saxena, I am Nick and I'll be your server today. This way please" the waiter tells and leads us to the table in the isolated corner.

"Here are your menus, I'll give you sometime to decide. Would you like something to drink while you decide?" the waiter asked.

"I'll have a glass of your house white wine" Abhimanyu said and looked at me to add. "I'll just have a glass of water"

"Certaintly, I'll be right back with your orders" saying this he left.

"So, how was your first day at work wife?" Abhimanyu asked. This is the first time he has initiated a normal conversation between us and I don't know what to say.

"Um... It was okay apart from my boss being an total ass for most part of the day." his lips curl with a smirk on my reply.

"He can't be all bad."

"Oh, I guess not" there was a genuine smile on Abhimanyu's face. There must be something wrong with him first laugh and than smile.

Before I could dwell more on the thought the waiter bought our drinks.

"Here's your go, have you had a chance to decide your order?" waiter asks.

"Yes, I'd take grilled chicken with mushroom risotto" I look at Abhimanyu completely shocked. He ordered Non-vegetrain, when Buaji created a fuss about non-vegetrain food few days back I assumed everyone in Abhimanyu's family is a vegetarian apparently not.

"I'll have Paneer Tikka masala with Butter Naan... Um.. and also vegetable pulao" I look at Abhimanyu and see him looking at me with the same adoration he had a little while back in the office.

I wanted to order more but I know for a fact I'll hardly be able to finish all the food I ordered just now. I am a foodie who loves to have variety of food while eating. I'll have one to two bite each and I'll be full and content and give me just one variety I'll be full but not content. And being content is more important for me than being full.

The food arrived shortly after me and Abhimanyu started talking about the random things like our likes and dislikes. I got to know that Abhimanyu's favourite color is black which is also my favourtie color and he dreamed of being a footballer growing up but had was injured during one practise match and had to quit football and join family business and had been working day and night to take his business to great heights. I knew Abhimanyu used to play football but not that he wanted to make a career in it. Knowing that business was never in his career plan and still how good he is managing everything made me respect him as a boss more.

Out of nowhere there was a hand on my eyes and I grab the hands firmly and pull on it in a way that the person standing behind me jerks forward. I look at the person and see Vivek with mouth open and shocked. I had no intention of doing that it was all instinct. I looked at Abhimanyu even he was shocked at my reaction and once his eyes lands on Vivek his shock is replaced by anger.

"Um.. I am so sorry Vivek. What are you doing here?"

"Woah... wow you have got strength... I was here for a meeting and saw you here so thought to surprise you. Never doing that again by the way." saying this his eyes lands on Abhimanyu

"Oh.. you must be Mr Saxena. I am Vivek Ishita's college friend." he extends his hand for a friendly handshake. And looking at Abhimanyu anyone can say that he is not interested in talking infact I am wondering how is Vivek still and not disappeared into thin air with the Abhimanyu is glaring at him. I feel uncomfortable with this not that there's something going on between me and Vivek even me or Abhimanyu for that matter but the way he reacted last time I wonder what he is going to assume now.
