Chapter 22
*Abhimanyu's POV:*
I found myself lost in thought about Ishita as I sat in my office. Her pretty appearance, her struggles with cooking, and her deep concentration while reading a book all played in my mind. I smiled as I remembered how she tried to gently remove my arm from her waist without waking me up. Truth is I woke up just minutes before her and was busy looking at her sleeping peacefully I closed my eyes as soon as I saw her waking up and had a front seat show of her struggle trying really hard not to laugh or make any sound. I was about to get back to work when I heard a knock on the door.
"Come in," I called out. My temporary secretary entered the room.
"Sir, you called?"
"Yes, I want you to reserve a table for four at a good restaurant, but make sure it serves only vegetarian food," I instructed her.
I wasn't satisfied with my temporary secretary's work. She had made several mistakes and it was becoming difficult without Meher, my regular assistant, who was on maternity leave for three months.
Before leaving the office, I double-checked the reservation with my assistant. I made this reservation to spare Ishita from cooking and also to give myself a break from the kitchen. I didn't want my Buaji to find out that Ishita couldn't cook.
As soon as I entered the living room, I heard my mother telling Ishita about my childhood antics. "He loved his food so much that he threw Aditya in the swimming pool during our first family gathering at our house," my mother said.
Ishita looked surprised. "Really?" she asked.
"Yes, and he was always cranky if anyone asked him to share his food," my mother continued. "And he was so stubborn, he once spent an entire evening looking for a fancier pencil box than his friend's in three different malls."
"Maa, you shouldn't be telling Ishita all my embarrassing stories," I teased.
"Abhimanyu, we were just looking at your baby pictures, of course your wife is supposed to know all your embarrassing stories," my mother replied with a smile.
"Okay, enough of the reminiscing. Let's get ready. I've made a reservation for us at a restaurant for dinner," I announced.
