Chapter Fifty-Four

Chapter 54:

Abhimanyu's POV:

I have read this line for the 10th time now and I am still not focused enough to understand a word of it. I am looking over the agreement I need to sign for the new vendor we are onboarding for some reason I don't seem to get Ishita's words from morning get out of my head. She is not comfortable with me. I know these were not her exact words but that is what it means right? After the moment of intimacy we had I was on cloud nine thinking that she was finally getting comfortable with me but it was all in the moment or was it not?

Before I could dwell more on this I heard a loud voice from outside my cabin. I quickly go outside and see that Ishita's dad is there and for some reason, he is shouting at her.

"You are working as a PA that too for your husband, I don't know how he agreed to this but you don't have any shame. You are a Malhotra for god's sake. I know you don't have a reputation but I do and I'll not tolerate anyone not even my daughter ruining it. You will let me visit my son-in-law now or I'll– "

"Mr. Malhotra," I say interrupting his insults towards Ishita.

How can he talk to her like this? He is her dad and he is creating a scene in front of everyone, if anyone it's him bringing shame to himself.

"Abhimanyu Beta" he turned towards me and the fury in his eyes and words when he started talking to me.

"What are you doing here?"

"I was here to meet you. But my daughter here–" he gave a quick glance to Ishita "She was not letting me visit you. I told her I didn't need an appointment to meet my son-in-law"

"You don't need an appointment to meet me anywhere but in my office you do." his expression turned furious which he quickly replaced with a smile. I would have missed it if I had not focused on him.

"Of course, that's right. But since I am already here, can we please talk? It's important" he says

"Yes, but next time you call me before visiting me in my office."

"Sure beta"

I step inside my cabin and sit in my seat without looking back. I know he will follow me so there was no need to look back.

He entered the cabin and occupied the seat in front of me

"Yes, tell me what was so urgent that you had to come here personally and threatened my wife to meet me"

"I was threatening her, I was just talking to her. Anyways tell me how is your married life? Is my daughter treating you well?"

"Yes all is good," I say not interested in sharing details of my marriage with him.

"Why is Ishita working here as your PA? How are you okay with it? I know my daughter all she is good at is spending money in shopping"

"You are not here to discuss my marriage, are you? So why don't we skip to the part where you tell me what you want from me?" I say irritation lace my voice even though I try a lot to be polite.

"You might already know about the deal I signed with Oborei's?"

"Yes, you offered them some shares of the company in return for their business in the UK"

"Yes and those bastards sold me a company that is knee-deep in losses and now they have shares in my company which minimizes my profits and I have a debt of their company to incur. The losses are so big that I might go bankrupt paying them"

"Everyone knew that this deal was no good. I don't know how they managed to fool you. What do you want from me in this?"

"I want you to help me with the money, Malhotra company is your's as well. Ishita is my only daughter and she is not capable of managing a company so it's you who'll have the company after me"

"Why do you think she is not capable of managing Malhotra industries?"

"I know her, all she is good at is spending my money. Even when she was in London I used to send her heavy allowance to fund her endless shopping bills. And honestly, I don't think she deserves to have the company I invested my blood and sweat in, I know all she'll do is make me go bankrupt sooner"

"Firstly, I don't think Ishita is incapable of managing a company. I have seen her work and I can tell you that if she had been in your place she would not have made a stupid mistake like yours to sign a deal without cross-verifying the details of the company secondly, I am not going to put myself or my company in any harm to protect you. I don't want anything to do with the person who disrespects and threatens my wife and if you think she doesn't deserve your company then you certainly don't deserve my help. She is my wife if there's anything that she doesn't deserve is a father like yours."

"Abhimanyu, you can't do this. You'll have to help me here. I'll be left with nothing if you don't"

"You should thought of this before you signed the deal without verifying it and before insulting my wife"

"Abhimnayu–"

"You can leave now, I have a meeting" I don't wait for his response and leave the office for my meeting."
