The moment I got to school, I felt strange, but I was knocked out of my sudden daze when the bell rang. When I sat down and set up my things, this time, the feeling was worse than before. Break time took too long to come about. I snuck away from the classrooms to meet up with Alya and Isaac by the hall. "Are you guys feeling the same way I am?" Ivan asked. Amanda took a deep breath, "This is just weird." "I don't know what this means but I'm sure the answer will reveal itself in good time. Anyways, we have to get moving, a trip back to class is long enough as it is, even if we're late or not." I said.
When the weekend came around, the heat was starting to get to me, more so than usual. So, that weekend we decided to head to the beach. When we got there, it was mildly packed, seeing that it wasn't as warm that day. We found a good spot in the shade and decided to sit down. However, there was one girl wearing all winter coats and clothing, staring at us as she walked past. "Who is that?" Ivan practically shouted. "Ugh," mid eye-roll, I paused and shuddered, "Wait, do you feel that?" "It's the exact same feeling we have when we're around each other." Alya replied. The girl looked at us for a brief moment, shook her head and walked away. When it was nearly time to pack up and go home, Ivan found the girl in her bathing suit, getting ready to go for a swim. "Hey, guys, I'm going to take a quick dip before we go." Ivan looked back at us as he took off his shirt. "Checking her out is fine, but following her is creepy!" I called to him. "I'm going, whether you like it or....great, she's gone." he said. Alya teased him, "Normally, I'd call that a crush but this is very suspicious behaviour! Even for you." Ivan shook his head, ran towards the water and dove in. Little did he know, Alya and I secretly wanted to investigate her too. Alya and I found Ivan in the water but the girl was with him. Her necklace was glowing and.... she had some form of a tail, donned with scales which glistened in the refracted sunlight like a...mermaid.
