[DYLAN'S POV]

It was a Wednesday morning, after first break and I was in English class. Alya, Martha, Ivan and I were doing group work outside by the lunch tables when Alya's G-Gear Watch chimed and lit up.
"Guardians," Agnes' voice came through on the device, "Something is wrong in Main Street. I'm sending the coordinates of suspect now."
The watch chimed as a little bar dropped down on the screen and showed "1 New Message - Agnes."
"Thanks, Agnes." I said, "We'll get here asap. What about Alec?"
"Actually, he's right there with you." Agnes chirped. We all got a fright when we saw him standing behind us.
"Did you really have to do that?" Ivan doubled over to take a breath.
Alec snickered, "I have to admit, your reactions were hilarious."
"Oh, please, I get your whole ninja aesthetic, but then again it doesn't mean you get to be a sneaky little creep." Alya was extra sassy today.
Martha rolled her eyes. "Wait, how are we going to get away without seeming like we're bunking?"
"I have an idea." I said.
"We're listening." Ivan's interest was clearly piqued.
"Alya and I have been working on a new combo called mirage. Basically, it just creates a mini illusion combining the wind currents and the heat of the air. All you need to do is stay here while we go power up in the bathrooms. Then, we'll make a bubble so that we can all have a lucky escape out of here." I explained, "Any questions?"
"Nope."
"Nah."
"Never dispute a Dylan-Plan."
"Okay, team. Move out." Alya and I headed down to the bathrooms to power up. I met her outside the bathrooms and joined hands with her.
"Mirage." We then became a transparent mass of air and moved towards the others to move them from the lunchtables to behind the aftercare building.
"Okay, looks like we're in the clear." Alya and I struggled to catch our breath after the combo we'd just pulled off.
Alya is easily irritated when she's tired. Today was no exception. "Well don't just stand there, power up already!"
"Okay, okay. You two ready?" Isaac looked back at Alec and Martha.
"Hm!" Alec and Martha stood ready.
"Then let's do it!" Ivan, Alec and Martha had powered up in seconds and we were off to the scene.

When we arrived on the scene, Main Street was a desolate wasteland, littered by specs of junk and dirt, even though the buildings were still intact. "What happened here?" I asked.
"Uh, guys look. I think something's up with that store over there." Ivan pointed at a torn up home emporium across the street. I noticed that it was the same one that a relative used to work. We let ourselves in and checked for any survivors. After a full sweep of the building. We all met up back at the front desk.
"Any luck?" I looked at Alya and Martha.
"Hm mm." They shook their heads.
"What about you two?" I then looked over at Ivan and Alec.
"Nope. Nothing." They also made little to no progress.
"Strange. It's like everyone's disappeared into thin air." I was also having difficulty piecing things together.
Suddenly, there was a loud bang, coming from outside, which sounded like an explosion.
"Ivan, was that you?" Alec whipped back at him.
"No." he replied.
"Let's check it out." I said.
