The last remaining piece of bread was dropped to the floor.

The fishy smell of the river is so strong that it's obvious that the place is near to the Lyon River.

The floor creaks every time one steps on it, and the body sways as if stepping
into the air. Above all, her stomach isn't feeling good. With all things considered, the hideout wasn't a building built on the ground.

There in a boat. It's also a medium-sized fishing boat.

There were three men who kidnapped her, but as they moved along, the footsteps increased, and about 10 more people welcomed them after getting on the boat.

'They're about 15?'

Dangled on the shoulder of a sturdy man while her wrists were tied, Lia was then thrown to the hard Voor. She almost screamed at the dull pain that struck her whole body, but she swallowed the groan because she had to pretend to have lost consciousness.

"Let's cut the hair first. You saw it too, right? How much the Young Duke cares for this one. Marilyn Selby must have been just a figurehead."

"I agree. It's deQnitely different from last time. This time, I think I can get a lot of money. It's going to be really fun. I can't believe I'm going to have a big deal of money out of the Duke's family."

"What should we do with those kids from earlier?"

"We have to deal with it. There's no other way, those kids have already seen our faces. So let's hurry and cut her hair first. Or should I cut off her finger and send it?"
The cold blade touched her neck. The iron scent of blood mixed with the fishy smell.

The man was clearly the culprit who slits the throats of the noble women. However, Lia was more concerned about them harming the children than the identity of the man.

"Wait a minute. This one's really... familiar."

The blade that had reached her nape moves away. His behavior was rough, but
the man was rather obedient.

Lia was still lying on the floor and curled up. The man roughly puts her in a
chair and pulled the cloth that covered her eyes.

When she opened her eyes with a bit of dificulty, Qve men were surrounding
her in what looked like a narrow cabin.

"You're not scared, Lady."

The doctor holding a lantern shines a light close to her face. Lia turned her head, frowning at the bright light.

The one who just talked to her was the
she saw in the square, as she expected.

"Except for the hair and the eyes, yes... Right. You look like Laura."

Everyone seemed surprised by Laura's name being mentioned. It was also the same for Lia. She didn't know that the man would think about her mother the moment he saw her face.

Having adjusted to the light, she looked up at the doctor. Then the men gathered and looked at Lia's face, then gasped.

"Unbelievable."

"Didn't she said she had lost your daughter years ago...?"

"That's why she left Louver."

"No, she's back. But why..."

"I don't think so. Her daughter was only about 10 years old. She wasn't a lady like this one."

Only the doctor stared silently at her among the panicking people. The doctor bowed closer and reached out to take off the gag.

"You..."

"No matter how right your beliefs are, harming a helpless woman and child
can't be rationalized!"

The first words she had uttered with a deep breath cooled down the chaotic
atmosphere.
