There was a faint annoyance in Claude's tone as he called Canillian. With her forehead hitting his chest, she quickly pushed him away in astonishment.

"Duke."

"Were you playing hide-and-seek with the Earl?"

"No. It's not hide-and-seek."

"Then, I guess you were being chased?"

Perhaps because of the mischievous pun, her faced heats up. Tolin was still following her, but then stopped in embarrassment when he saw Claude.

He looked back at Tolin with a calm face. Claude asked her the question, but somehow Tolin have heard it and answered instead.

"No, it's not like she's being chased. We're just... we're having a conversation."

"To be able to have a conversation with such distance. That's really
amazing."

Unlike his gentle smile, his eyes were cold. He puts away his hand off the
wall and asked the stiffened Tolin.

"Don't you think so?"

Trying to falter and back down, Tolin stiffened as if he was nailed to where the was standing. Like he was caught, he then alternately looked at Claude and Canillian before he speaks.

"I just want to receive an apology from being insulted. But Sir Canillian doesn't seem to know how to be polite."

"Polite?"

"I'm telling the truth."

She wanted to ask back Tolin's attitude as he came out being rude, but Lia closed her mouth.

This is the Imperial Palace. Not only could it cause a disturbance, but the Marchioness was also in the building. She seems to hear a voice, warning her to stay still like a doll.

Even if it's a little unfair, it might be better to apologize and end it. With that in mind, she then tried to take a step.

"I want to hear it. How my brother insulted the Earl, you say?"

As they had been together earlier, Kieran was leaning against the wall and approached. She didn't even notice that Kieran was nearby because she was preoccupied by Claude.

Kieran's appearance alone eased her tension. Claude's eyes slightly shakes when he sees how Lia smile in relief.

White suit and :owing hair that covers the ears. With her white and soft skin, Canillia looked like a doll dressed in a man's clothing.

Unlike her being relieved, Tolin stepped back from Kieran one after another with a pale face like a corpse.

"Lord... Lord Kieran."

Kieran smiles as he approached Tolin, whose stuttering.

Kieran clicked his
tongue as if criticizing him.

"Tell me. What words does my brother insulted you with? If it's reasonable
enough, I'd be happy to apologize."

A cold tone that doesn't match the gentle Kieran. In that atmosphere that wouldn't be strange if a fight broke out instantly, Lia realized that she had to get out of there as soon as possible.

It happened because of her, but it was also something that he shouldn't have done.

Should she just reason that it's a war of nerves between men and their honor?

While Tolin is making excuses in front of Kieran, Lia stepped back and chose to stay away from them.

For a moment, Claude caught her arm as she creeps away.
