An unexpected guest came to visit the Grand Palace in Del Casa early in the
morning.

The guest was Angel, Marquis Vale's butler.

Owen's forehead faintly wrinkled as he stood behind the servant who opened the door.

He wasn't that fond with the Marquis Vale, so he was displeased to meet the gaze of the guest that greeted him.

"Welcome."

"My apologies for coming here without contacting first."

"Well, it must be urgent. Come on in."

"Thank you for understanding. I'm here to see Lady Canillia."

Angel would often visit the Grand Palace with Marquis Vale, so he naturally moved in search of the reception room.

However, it was impossible for the butler to sit still and wait for the lady, who is as good as the Master of the house.

Angel stood with his back against the window, clutching a thick bundle in his hand as if it was a treasure.

Owen called a passing by maid and instructed to inform Canillia about the guest.

He also told the maid to lower her voice when speaking to the lady because the Grand Duke would surely be with her.

After a while, they could hear a sound of footstep rushing down the stairs.

Angel turned around with joy in his heart, but then hardens in an instant.

Canillia appeared with a cane as she approached Angel with a bright look on her face. Angel bowed to show his courtesy upon seeing the Grand Duke behind Lia.

The butler was engulfed with guilt, seeing Canillia limps.

It's because of that accident that wouldn't have happened if he had been a little more careful.

Thinking that he should've noticed the odd movements of Dornan when he came to the hospital to visit...

"Angel, it must've been a long journey."

"It's quite late. I should've come much earlier."

Regardless, Canillia was purely pleased to see Angel, who seemed to have fully recovered.

A warm tea was placed on the table as they face each other. It was the tea that Lia enjoyed the most in the past few days.

Angel looked at the blooming flowers, then he held out the bundle his been carrying.

"A reply has arrived from Gaior. I was trying to deliver it on time. I apologize for being rude, my Lady."

Claude narrowed his eyes when he heard that the reply was from Gaior.

Lia accepted the thick bundle with her trembling hands.

Her heart flutters at the thought that there would be things from the contents that she hadn't heard before.

"You've come a long way, so take a good rest."

Claude made the butler stand up, for Angel couldn't take his eyes off Lia.

It would probably take a lot of time to read all of those letters.

As Angel was sent to the tea room with Owen, Claude moved beside Lia.

"Are you happy?"

"Yes. It's my first time receiving a reply. I never got one before."

"There must've been some issue."

"I believe so. Or someone might have got in the way. Someone like Dr. Carl."
