As Wade had said, the invitation sent to the Grand Duke were also distributed to the other nobles in the capital.

The nobles who received the invitation expressed their delight at the banquet of the great nobles. It made the owners of boutiques and shops busy on making and delivering the new designs of clothes.

Canillia was sitting on a bench at St. Matthew Park and watching the busy world around her.

Young couples pushing strollers, and the elderlies playing chess. The child, who had been selling newspapers since early in the morning, was just wandering around because of the lack of work.

'Back then, your mom was falsely accused and kicked out of the house. I'm really sorry... That's why you don't have to feel guilty for me. Feel free to be angry, or be resentful.'

Lia wasn't surprised at all.

Maybe he was vaguely guessing.

Without knowing that the more intense
the Marchioness' defeat became, the more he doubt the past he knew.

Perhaps that's the reason why Lia wasn't shocked, but then someone's
name popped out of her head.

'Betty.'

'Was Betty, who was like a mother to me, also show kindness just to relieve her guilt?'

It seems like everyone have told lies for themselves, and those lies snowballed and robbed someone's life.

Canillia rubbed her face with both hands to break free from her complicated thoughts.

'What's the point of thinking about it? It's all in the past already, and I'm at the level where I can answer for myself.'

'Now I'm looking forward to how much of the truth will be revealed.'

"At times like this, you have to eat something sweet."

Mumbling quite seriously, she glanced far away. Ivan was wearing a hat and was following Lia without showing himself.

As she stood up, Ivan moves as well from looking in the newspapers. A giggle leaked out because of his natural movement.

So Lia tightened the collar of her coat and walked forward. The place she was heading to was a store that sells candy, same with the ones that Claude had given her a long time ago.
There weren't so many customers at the time, but she could see children happily leaving the store with a bucket of cloud-like candy.

She carefully looks at the sign that reads

'New Sweets of the Year!'

"Do you still like sweet things?"

A familiar yet unfamiliar air flows. A voice that she had missed for a while.

Perhaps because this person was the first friend she met...

Lia stiffened just as the wind stopped.

Then the man bowed to level her ear and whispered with a smile.

"My Lady."

'Ian...?'

She slowly turned around, recalling the person who owns the voice. It was Ian. He then took out his hands from his pockets and opened his arms with a bright smile.

"Canillia."

"Ian."

Surprised at Ian approaching her, Lia took a step back. As soon as he tried to hug her, a sword was then blocked between the two.

"She's going to be the Grand Duchess Ihar. Keep your manners."

Ian sneers at Ivan, who was now standing in front of him and was cynical.
