The cold snow crystal fell on the tip of her nose.

Looking up at the sky where the first snow of the year began to fall, Lia relaxed her stiff face.

She stopped by the library and spent the entire day there. Now, she looks forward to see the librarian who always recommends a book to her. But it was a shame that the librarian had no more books to recommend to her that day.

She was standing in front of the house and appreciates the white light that separates the still darkness. Pipi took off her new leather gloves and feels the snowflakes that fell on her palm. The cold feeling that tickles the palms.

A carriage that was approaching from a distance, slowly passed by her. The wheel marks of the carriage are drawn in the shallow snow.

Lia calmly captured the desolate world created by the snowy night.

White fog leaked through her lips. A cat that was curled up under the garden yawns loudly.

Perhaps because of the snow, the world was quiet today.

Lia smiled and turned towards the front door. Then she popped out her tongue and tasted the snowflakes.

Obviously, the snow doesn't taste anything. She then covers her lips, thinking that it was stupid.

'Isn't that what street children do quite often? How ironic that you're looking for the sweetness of a sorbet in the snow.'

How could he say such a mean thing? Thinking about it, Claude at that time was a really intimidating young Duke.

How she trembled back then just by looking into his eyes.

She couldn't believe that he confessed to her.

Lia can still vividly remembers the feeling of the kiss they've shared from the plains. When she thought of that day, she would toss and turn trying to sleep, with her face heating up.

However, it's already been three years.

Even if his mind might change during those times, she shouldn't be sad about it. Even if it has already become a sweet memory that the Duke might want her to forget, she must accept it.

The melancholy that comes whenever she negatively thought about it made her mentally exhausted.

After rubbing her cold hands, she then opened the front door.

There was a cry of a bird from the sky. She raised her head and saw a gray
bird, mixed with the darkness, and was turning with its wings spread open.

Lia's attention was drawn to the bird.

The bird that circles in the air, landed
on top of a street lamp, flapping its large wings.

The sleeping cat from before got startled and its hairs stand, causing the dry flowerbed to shake.

The large bird was a hawk with blue eyes.
Lia stared at the hawk that she's only seeing for the first time.

Despite thinking of running away from such a dangerous wild animal, she couldn't take her eyes off the elegant creature.

It was the same as winning someone over. Like it had something to do, the bird only watched down at her without moving, and didn't run away or tidy its wings.

The magnificent bird resembles someone.

Instead of entering the house, Lia sat down at the end of the stairs. Her butt felt cold, but she couldn't just go in and leave the mysterious bird.

"You're like Eli."

Eli would also stare with the same look on its eyes whenever she visits the
horse yard.
