Chapter 35

This is the last chapter for Stuck in Between. Thank you to all of you who read and supported this story and for allowing me to share this with you.

Gosh, I still can't believe that here we are now, ending another story of mine. Last year nang umpisahan ko ito ay hindi ko rin inasahan ang matatanggap kong pagmamahal mula sa inyong lahat. Thank you to you, who's reading this and has finally reached the end of Pyrrhus, Zinnia, and Rico's journey. Walang katapusang pasasalamat sa inyong lahat dahil wala ako at ang istoryang ito kung wala kayo. Kayo ang isa sa napakaraming dahilan kung bakit ito naisulat, at kung bakit ako nagpapatuloy. Maraming maraming salamat and I hope you enjoy the last chapter of SIB.

Chapter 35

Kasabay kong bumaba sila tito sa colline nang tuluyan nang magdilim. They both insisted that they'd take me home, which I politely declined. I know this day has been a long and tiring day for the both of them, and I don't want to be a hindrance to their rest time.

Nang makarating ako sa bahay ay nakita ko roon sila Mama, kausap sina Lola Lori. Itatanong ko sana kung anong meron nang parang natatakot silang naghiwalay nang makita akong papasok sa bahay. My brows frowned at that, looking at them suspisciously. May tinatago ba sila sa akin?

Papa smiled at me awkwardly after a while of a silent staring contest.

"Okay..?" natatawa kong saad at dumiretso na sa pag-akyat para makapunta sa kwarto. Gosh, this day has been spent well, huh? Bumagsak ang katawan ko sa kama matapos kong magbihis. Nakatulala lang ako roon nang kumatok si Mama.

"Pasok po." I said and she opened the door with a smile on her face, may dala siyang pagkain at halos maglaway ako nang makitang kanin iyon at ang ulam ay sinigang! I almost jumped out of my bed with excitement. Kinuha ko kay mama ang tray at ipinatong iyon sa table na malapit sa kama ko.

I sat down in front of it and looked back at my mom who just nodded at me.

"Kain na po, ma." Inalok ko si mama pagkatapos kong magdasal at nang tumango siya ay nagsimula na akong kumain. Mama just watched me there, and I just smiled at her everytime our gazes would meet and she would return the same gesture.

Nang patapos na ako ay dadalahin ko na sana pababa ang kinainan ko nang lumabas si Lola Lori sa may pinto, nakangiti sa akin at walang pasabing kinuha ang pinagkainan ko bago tumango at ngumiti ng matamis kay mama. I became suspicious for the second time. Nilingon ko si Mama at nakangiti siya sa akin ng matamis. She went near me and guided me to my vanity mirror.

She started combing my hair as she stared at our reflection. She then smiled sadly as I can see her tears slowly flowing out of her eyes. Nagulat ako dahil doon at agad tumayo para yakapin siya. She just giggled and hugged me back.

"Grabe, anak, hindi ka na nga talaga bata." I looked at her, confused with what she said but she just gave me a reassuring smile before putting me to bed.

"Know that you will always be our baby, huh? No matter what happens."

I nodded as dreams slowly call me while Ma was singing a song with the tune that I remembered perfectly.

"The Sun is sleeping

People are dreaming,

My darling you should to,

Don't worry about the future that's coming,

We will always be here for you."

I woke up the next day feeling refreshed. I almost forgot that today is our graduation sa sarap ng tulog ko. I can't believe that it's already been that long since I came here.
