CHAPTER ONE
"Ms.
I groaned as I slowly opened my eyes. It's been a few months already since I came here in this house—more like a mansion. Until now, hindi ko pa rin naiintindihan kung anong ibig sabihin ng mga salitang binitiwan nila Mama at Papa no'ng araw na umalis sila. I have been waiting for them to come back since then, and still, there was nothing.
"Zinnia, bangon na, ija."
I sighed and slowly sat down my bed, nakita ko sa paanan ng queen sized bed ko si Lola Lori at si Athena. The two of them have been helping me since I arrived here.
It shocked me to the bones when they suddenly entered my room when I first came, telling me that they're supposed to help me.
"Nako, Ms. Zin. Masanay ka na. We have to do this."
My conscience would leave me restless.
"Ms. I'm not used to it. I don't think I'll ever be. I prefer my natural face, at isa pa, mabigat sa mukha ang make up.
She's supposed to eat with them, too, but I personally asked her to eat with me because I'm not used to eating alone. That's also why I don't know how I'll cope up later as it is my first day.
I waved back even though I know that they cannot see me. The car's window is tinted.
I wonder how the school looks like. I haven't been there yet since si Lola ang nagasikaso ng papeles ko so basically, this is literally my first day in the school. I sighed; I hope this won't be a bad day.
"Ms.
Up until now that I'm going to school, iniisip ko pa rin kung nasaan sila Mama at Papa. All that they told me was that they will come back there to help, and until now, wala akong balitang nakukuha galing sa kanila. Ilang buwan na ang nakalipas. I miss them a lot already.
I can see someone standing there while holding binoculars. What was that? A watchtower?
"Was that a watchtower, Kuya Lando?" I asked out of curiosity.
"Opo, Ms. Zin. My brows furrowed at his explanation...hindi ko maintindihan.
