This is the end of Stuck in Between. Thank you to all of you who joined Zin and Pyrrhus on their journey. Writing this was hard because I know that it will be the end, but despite so, I am happy that I was able to finish another story and that I was there as I watch these characters grow. Thank you for the support and for loving this story. I hope that you enjoyed the ride and you learned something from here. Enjoy reading SIB's epilogue. I hope to see you on the next ones too!
Epilogue
I can feel my hands trembling, hindi ako mapakali habang naghihintay dito sa colline. I've been walking back and forth for a while now, tinatanaw ang bayan sa ibaba. I'm wearing my toga while waiting for Zin to come.
This is finally the moment. I was smiling like a fool as I wander my eyes around the place. It's all thanks to Emy for helping me with this, and of course, all the other people behind this—everyone who helped me.
My heart was beating rapidly due to the nervousness that I'm feeling. She's really the only person who can make me feel different emotions, the only woman that I'd love this way.
Kinuha ko ang kahon sa bulsa and I too was in awe when I saw the ring inside it. It was a diamond ring with crystals around it that I had personally harvested. It may look simple, but the meaning behind the ring and the stone that I put here is what matters.
"Zinnia's coming."
I almost lose my grip on the ring when I heard Lolo's voice in my head. Holy Moon Goddess, lolo. Basta basta na lamang nagsasalita. If I have a heart disease, I will surely drop dead here!
"Calm your shits down, Pyrrhus Reed." I told myself. I inhaled and exhaled large amounts of air, trying to calm my beating heart nang malipad ang isang hyacinth palayo, I immediately chased after it, hindi na naisip na marami pa namang natitirang hyacinth doon kumpara sa isang ito but I still found my feet chasing after it, as if it's her. It's like despite how much hyacinths were left, this one would be the one to complete it, without it, it'd be nothing.
I smiled when I was able to finally catch it, however, just when I thought that I can go back to my place in peace, I lost my balance and fell. I closed my eyes when I felt my beating heart slowly calming down. Ito lang pala ang makakapagpakalma sa akin.
"Pyrrhus?!" I almost jumped when I heard Zin's voice. I felt her presence beside me and I was so alarmed when heard her sobs na agad akong napabangon.
I scooped her and put my arms around her crying body. Naramdaman ko naman ang bigla niyang pagtigil. Her sad eyes were staring at me with relief, and she hugged me again, this time, tighter.
"You're...a-alright," she said, her voice were filled with something I can't grasp.
"I am." She nodded at me, still keeping her arms around me. My heart was beating so loud and fast that it scares me. She probably finds it weird that it's beating this way.
"I love the sound of your heartbeat," she said while her head was palced on my chest, listening to the beat of my heart.
"It only beats for you," I said softly, there was nothing but the truth when I spoke those words. I kissed her head after a while and asked her to go with me.
I was excited and nervous at the same time as I led her to the place where I had planned to do it. I heard her gasps behind me, and how she stopped on her tracks, pulling me when we reached the top of colline.
