The Answers - part 4

“Fuck.” Jay cursed, running his hands across his face a number of times.

He didn’t know how to react.

If to break down and cry or cause damage to every single person who had ever been involved.

He felt like this whole time their lives had been a lie.

Planned out with no choice of their own.

They had never had freedom, yet none of them were aware.

“We looked out for her, you and your brothers Jay. We couldn’t help everyone.”

Shaking his head, he tried to make sense of everything, yet it was painful just trying to.

“You know I’m going to have to tell her.” He looked to them, pure seriousness across his features.

“You can’t. We worked so hard to keep this on the low.”

“I don’t give a shit. Matt’s my best mate, I’m not lying to his face.”

And with that he left.

“Could you have been any later?” George looked to Jay as he walked into the room about an hour after they had arranged to all meet.

“I had to see some people and then go back and pick Nessa up. Patience boy.” Jay looked to him, letting himself fall back on one of the sofa’s as Nessa sat with him.

He looked a mixture of exhausted and lost in thought, like whatever was on his mind was intoxicating.

“Who the fuck have you been seeing Jay?” He asked the question that everyone else was wondering.

Isabella, Matt, Juliet, Jess and the Gibson brothers were all gathered in George’s house. The need for these meetings becoming frequent ever since everything went down.

They needed to make sure everyone was included at all times, to ensure they knew what was going on.

“I’ll get to that part, but you can’t go ape shit on me.”

They agreed, yet they knew it was likely they still would.

“My parents… and Brent.” He mumbled the last and everyone’s eyes shot to him like he had lost his mind.

“What the hell Jay?” Matt stood to his feet. “Brent? Why the fuck have you been meeting Brent?”

“Sit down and calm down Russle. Hear me out.” Jay looked back at him warningly, yet both he and George looked far from pleased.

“Go ahead then, we’re listening but you’re still an idiot.” George held out his hand as a signal for him to continue talking.

“I just had the most intense conversation I have ever experienced. It’s fucked up and at the same time it makes everything seem clearer.” He looked to all the individuals in the room.

“What do you mean?” Jess tried to push for more.

“You guys need to hear it for yourselves, which is why I arranged for us all to meet with them tomorrow.”

They didn’t need to say anything to show how reluctant they were to the idea, each and every one of their faces made it clear.

“I’m not bringing Isabella.” George was quick to jump down Jay’s throat for making the plans without discussing it with them.

Brent was dangerous. He wasn’t with them so why the hell did Jay feel the need to include him. What did him or his parents know?

“She needs to be. Everyone does, including Jack, Elliot, Sophie and Jasmine. You all need to hear this.”

Shaking his head, George bit the inside of his cheek.

“No fucking way Gibson. I’m not getting her involved. Especially not with Brent around.” He argued yet Jay seemed to have an answer for everything he tried to argue with.

“Brent visited me the whole time I was locked up. He knows stuff and I trust him. Just hear my parent’s out and it will make sense.” He spoke with pure determination in his voice, like he was desperate. “You need to be there, everyone does. There is no question about it.”

As George was about to force himself forward and continue to fight Jay on this, Isabella stretched her hand out to stop him.

“It’s okay. If he says we need to, then I will.” She nodded and he looked pained at her response before slowly nodding.

“Alright fine. I’m in.”

Once the agreement for the next day had been made, they were all grabbing their things ready to make a move and leave, before Jay stopped Juliet.

“Can I talk to you for a minute?” He asked and she looked nervously at him for a moment, not being his biggest fan but nevertheless agreed, seeing the determination in his eyes.

“Yeah?” She looked up at him.

“This is going to sound crazy but I wanted to tell you first, before you find out in front of everyone else.” He began.

“What is it?”

“Tomorrow when you meet my parent’s they are going to explain something to you. It will hurt like fuck but know they only did it for your sake. Everything they did was for your safety.”

Jay took a deep breath, grabbing the piece of paper off the side.

“What are you talking about? What do you mean?” She asked, getting a little worked up due to not understanding.

“Just have a look at this.” He said and handed over a birth certificate.

It had Juliet’s name written over it, but it didn’t look right to her.

Juliet Gibson

Father: Jonathon Gibson

Mother: Rebecca Gibson

As she read the words her stomach sunk. She felt like she was going to throw up as tears filled her eyes with confusion.

She tried to speak, but nothing would come out.

“I’m sorry.” Was all Jay said.
