Chapter 37

Where it all began...

“This is intense.” Isabella mumbled, looking to George who was sat beside her, Leo on the floor by their feet.

The room was filled with all different faces, people who loved one another all the way to strangers. It was a meeting they never thought they would experience together.

“It’s fucking strange.” He looked back, rolling his eyes.

He wasn’t pleased about Brent’s presence in the room, watching him with pure hatred.

Laying her hand on his face, she smiled lightly.

“Calm down.”

Juliet hadn’t said a word since she had sat down in the room, feeling sick at the sight of the parents that had given her up.

“This is insane, I know.” Jay spoke up, getting everyone’s attention. “But you need to hear them out. You need to know what they told me.”

He looked on edge, worried about the reactions he was going to get. However his parents began talking anyway, clearly not wanting to waste any time.

“In advance, we’re sorry for anything you hear that you don’t like. Just remember you can’t change anything that happened and you just have to deal with it.” Jonathon Gibson began speaking. “But it’s right you know, maybe you can start taking a bit more control if you do.”

“The gang?” He looked to those particular individuals in the room.

“George, Jay, Jess, Matt, Josh… Brent included but he’s not relevant for this. You were all taken in by Buddy, correct? To form a gang, something you could call family. He did you a favour?”

No one was saying anything. Just watching him give out this speech with pure confidence.

It was clear he knew a lot. He had lived through it all, secrets that had never been shared with the younger generation sat before him.

“Obviously you all found out that wasn’t quite the case. He killed your parents and took you in for the money. But it wasn’t just a random situation. It started with George.”

His eyes caught focus with George’s, and Isabella’s stomach dropped.

She didn’t know if she could sit here and listen.

She could feel George’s pulse speeding up and as she grabbed his hand, he was shaking slightly.

“But we need to tell you the story from our point of view. From what we knew at the time, so we’ll get to that later, when we found it out.”

George nodded, slight relief that he wasn’t going to be the first topic of conversation.

“Juliet.” Rebecca Gibson looked across to the blonde.

She sat there, clinging onto Matt and looking like she was about to cry, but biting her lip, she kept it in.

“We had our five sons, Liam, Cole, Trey, Kye and then Jay. We then had you and we couldn’t keep you.” She didn’t look sad, she didn’t look hurt. This was just serious for her, no emotions at all.

“Why?” Juliet spoke up, wanting the answers.

“You’re a girl, we couldn’t bring you into the life of a gang. You would get killed, very easily… so we put you up for adoption.”

As Juliet went to but in, Rebecca held her hand up, preventing her from talking.

“The moment you were born, Jay took to you as a little sister, he was young but the moment we let you go, he became a nuisance. He began causing trouble and began to fight back with us, to try and hurt us. We couldn’t have that.” Her voice was so calm yet sickening, but they had no choice to just sit and listen.

“We then went to Buddy for help, he was well known for doing deals with people. That was our only choice. We asked him to take Jay in and he agreed, under his own circumstances of course.”

“You traded me in for money, we all know that.” Jay bit back, looking every bit of pissed off with his mother.

“Money and help in return. He explained to us what he had been doing, killing all of your parents and taking you in alongside their money. However Jess’ sister Jasmine…” She looked over to both Jess and Jasmine, ensuring they were fully listening and Jasmine seemed to catch on with where she was going with this.

“…Jasmine found out that Buddy had made their mum kill her dad. Of course she was going to tell Jess, to stop her from going in the gang. Buddy couldn’t let that happen. He needed our help, our knowledge.”

Jess looked over to Jasmine who just like the Gibson’s showed no emotions, she continued to chew her gum, twisting her hair around her finger like a teenage girl.

“We knew she was pregnant at the time and that she didn’t want the father to know. We also knew that the father was Jack. We gave Buddy the information he needed to get what he wanted.”

As Jasmine began to chuckle, Rebecca ignored her and carried on.

“Buddy threatened to tell Jack if Jasmine didn’t leave Brighton, so she did exactly what he said… and that’s why you never knew much about your sister Jess.”

And then Jasmine continued to laugh once again, standing to her feet.

“You idiots actually believed Jack was the dad, without questioning it.” Pursing her lips she looked around to him and he looked back with a blank expression, lost in what she was saying.

“But you said you didn’t want the dad to know? It was him, of course it was…” Rebecca fort back, shocked that she would ever get anything wrong.

“I mean, there is a chance it’s Jack… but there is also a chance it’s Kye’s. And yeah, I didn’t want the dad to know, because if it was Kye’s, it would be a Gibson and you guys are fucking terrifying.”

“Kye? Are you kidding me?” Jay tried to prevent himself from laughing, but couldn’t keep it in as Kye sunk in his seat.

“Exactly. Kye also has nothing, he has to rely on his brothers to fend for him. Jack on the other hand, the other possible father, he’s loaded. I knew I would get the cash from him easy. So I chose him.” She smiled, like this was all some joke.

As quick as she finished speaking, Jess rose to her feet, slapping her sister around the face before reaching for her gun.

“’You chose him?’ Jasmine this isn’t some fucking joke.” She hissed, holding the weapon out in front of her, yet her hand was shaking.

“Jess, don’t, not here.” Jack quickly stood to his feet, going behind her and placing his hand over hers, lowering her arm down.

She let Jack slip the gun from her hold, looking back to where her children were sat, before she quickly burst out crying. Falling into Jack’s arm, she remained there, sobbing with everything in her as the room remained silent.

“It’s alright… it’s alright.”

Jack held her tight, placing a kiss to her head before she pulled back.

“Don’t… I… I can’t. No.” She said, before moving away from him and sitting as far away on the sofa’s as she could manage. Avoiding not only his eye contact, but everyone in the room.

So yeah, as it says... to be continued!

THis is the start of all the answers to why, what, how and when everything happened. It's going to get a little complicated, hence why I am spilitting it off into a number of chapters haha!

It's going to be all from the Gibson parent's point of view, how they saw everything and how they found everything out.

They lived through it all and played a big part in why the gang ended up where they are today... as you can already start to see.
