Back at my base, the office was pitch black while I was on a video call with Colton and I was damn pissed.

"The deal was for you to eliminate the threat by Aman's organization and expose it's benefactors. I say we run a surprise attack on..."

"I've lost three of my men on this mission, Colton, I'm not about to increase that number." I took a sip of the wine and dropped the glass back on the table.

"So are we going to sit around and just watch Aman crumble us?!" He yelled through the screen and I took a quick glance at him, another sip of my wine.

"Think about it, why would the government send an assassin to do the work of their agents? It's not about the connections, the men and the money to pull the job, only a demon can pull a demon out of it's lair and at this point, the government is helpless."

"Then why do we not have Aman in chains now if you're really that good?"

"It's only a matter of time." Another sip.

"We're risking our integrity to work with a dirty man like you, Nicholas."

I flinched. Not like it's a lie. I'm a man who's hands have taken lives of men. "You needed this threat against the president hidden from the public so you're seeking for my help because I'm the one who's the best at running the job low and private. You. Need. Me." I had to remind the man incase he forgot that I'm the one that called the shots.

"Nicholas..."

The screen lit up with a mini box floating in the middle. It was an emergency text from Wema. She hardly sent those and if she did, it was something huge.

Then I recalled Colton was still talking about whatever it is he was, "You... would do well to reduce your tone when speaking with me, Colton. I'm not a very nice man." I ended the call.

"SIR, IT'S AN EMERGENCY." Wema's voice. She was connected to the house but I could control her through my laptop.

"What is?"

"NOT ONLY DID SHE FIND THE ENTRANCE TO THE SECRET ROOM. IT APPEARS SHE KNOWS WHO YOU REALLY ARE."

She... Curtis... She found out the truth. I opened Wema's video history which was connected to the cameras in the house. This was how I knew her whereabouts in and out and how I knew she tampered with my stuff. She had been suspicious of my office alot of times but she had never been close to getting into the secret room. Not until some hours ago.

From the video, Curtis made a mess of herself and my house. The woman broke my expensive chandeliers, my awards, she broke pretty much anything breakable.

Currently, she was sleeping on the couch in the now scattered living room. I zoomed her figure on the screen, she had ended her tantrums and she was sleeping so peaceful, so calm.

"I WARNED YOU. LOOSING SECURITY WAS A BAD IDEA."

"As expected." I breathed relaxing on the swivel chair, tilting my head backwards.

"WHAT'S THE NEXT COURSE OF ACTION, SIR?"

What can I do now? It's over, already. What could I possibly do? I'm scared that acting on this would make things worse. I was tired of the lies and everything.

That's why I let her brother bug my phone.

If there was anything Curtis knew about me now, I let it happen. Now I just have to face the consequences.

"SIR?"

"Wema, override the lockdown and let her go."

"SIR..."
