Curtis always wants to be with me like a normal couple would. I did leave her on our wedding night. It was never my intention, but somehow I was grateful for that distress call, stopping me from ripping her clothes off and taking her. Damn, do I feel guilty. Guilty, because our intimacy was meant to be forbidden. Guilty, because I may never give her the happy life she wished for both of us.

I let go of my loneliness and I let her in. Which is something I don't usually do. Tara, knew that well. For some reason, Tara was still with the idea that I used her for my work. She was right, but she also used me so there's nothing she can pin on me.

Curtis on the other hand was different. Despite my attitude to our marriage, she cared for me. She was worried I was stressed up. She was willing to cheer me up and make a dark man like me happy.

My work... the sole reason I got myself involved with her. The sole reason I stalked her. Curtis's life was in danger and marrying her was the best option. I needed to get her closer to me so I could protect her.

When I found out she entered my office, I was furious. Curtis cannot, by any means, find out about my work. She'll loathe me. When she told me the other day that she didn't trust me, I never expected that shit to hurt the way it did. It hit my soul.

And everytime she tells me she loves me, I hate myself the more. Knowing fully well, after I completed my mission, I would free her from my loveless marriage. Being rude to her now would make it easier to let go.

Either way, when she found out about me, she won't want to stay with me. She would leave. Staying away from her would make it less painful.

"Gentlemen, we capture Aman tonight." I said as I cocked my gun.

"Yes, Sir." Ten men replied in unison. All dressed in black boot, black combat trouser, black body fitted shirt with bullet proof vest, tactical gloves and bandit mask, each holding rifles, just like I was.

This was the address sent to me the day Curtis came into my office. I had been tracking the people who were to put her life in danger, The CA. The crescent avengers. A group of individuals who felt they could take the law into their hands. I planned to take them out before they came for her.

"Let's go." I ordered, leading them into an abandoned warehouse.

I spent weeks trying to get an original lead on their hide out. This was what stressed the hell out of me. This was why I usually left home and now, I was so close to my goal.

We proceeded slowly through the dark warehouse that smelt damp and was filled with barrels. The CA dealt illegal exportation of oil, drugs. That was how they got the money to cause havoc. Many have tried to get a link to put them behind bars but, nothing.

Their leader, Aman, who was the mastermind was cunning and invincible. From Info, Aman needs Curtis to carry out his evil deeds against the government, but that's all going to end today.

After getting into the warehouse, the men were divided, one set with me on the ground floor, while the other followed the flight of the stairs. We proceeded slowly, using the barrels as camouflage. I give signal to two men and they move ahead, rummaging and bursting through doors to find them empty.

"Sir, it seems the the warehouse is empty." One of my men from upstairs said over the earphone that was in my ear.

"Shit," I cursed as I came out of my hiding place, lowering my gun. "It's empty?"

"Another wrong info, Sir." A man said as he ran towards me after searching all rooms.

"Shit," I cursed again, dropping my weapon on a metal table nearby,  resting on it with my hands balled fists.
