Monday morning at Gold Express Suites and Hotels, where i worked. I inhaled sharply as i walked through the sliding multiple glass door to the red carpet with golden railings

"Good morning, Sir/Ma'am. Welcome to Gold Express." The door man greeted to anyone who entered, and i simply offered him a smile.

The reception shone brightly reflecting the Golden scenery. The walls were of Golden colour as well as the reception, the ceiling, the beautiful golden framed paintings that hung on the wall, the mini water fountain at the centre and the flower pots which had white roses and the beautiful chandeliers. The hall scented lavender. It was a new week and the hall was busy. There were guests leaving and coming in. Some were honeymooners, some were on reservation and others were on vacation.

The reception had an unending yet co-ordinated queue with guests paying in and out. I passed through the long queue at the reception area and went to the front. I cut the line, though i could hear some voices from the queue grumble in irritation upon my act.

"Tori, Good morning" I greeted the receptionist who was too busy with her work to notice me.

"Oh hey, Curtis." She replied not raising her head from her computer. I observed her for a while before i spoke up again.

"Did my order come in during the weekend?" I asked. She remained silent, oblivious to my presence. "Hellooo! I'm still here" I waved my hands as i smiled sheepishly.

She finally raised her head up to my gaze. "Look Curtis, my hands are full right now." She said as she tore a payment slip for a man on the queue. "Thanks for staying at Gold Express, hope we see you next time." She smiled politely to the man as he walked away.

"Welcome to Gold Express, Sir. " She said to the next man on the queue.

"I and my wife are on honeymoon and we paid for a room online."

"What's your name please." Tori asked while checking her computer.

"Mr and Mrs Dawson." He replied.

"Oh yes, there's a reservation under your name. A porter will take your baggage to the room. Here are your key cards," She said as she handed them over. "Enjoy." She smiled politely as the couple walked towards the elevators.

"You're really starting to irritate me now." I blurted as i smiled gracefully.

She raised a perfect brow. "Just give me five minutes."

I stood there for God knows how long, with my feet and fingers tapping whatsoever they could. My patience running thin. Any moment now, i'd burst out all Ninjitsu on her. Just then, he walked in.

Shawn .N. Lannister.

All broad chested with the most perfect face. He had rose beige skin, dark blonde hair, full plump pink lips that gave a sparkle to his grey eyes and a well defined jawline. His figure calm yet so intimidating. The way heads turned upon his appearance, the way his body flexed through the crowd.

It felt like the world had stopped,

frozen in time,

in his awe.

There was no doubt this man was stunning.

He wore a suit which matched the Golden scenery of the hall. It could have been hard to notice his presence but this man's awe wasn't missed. The way he clothe himself, his car, his wristwatch, his shoes, his hair. The way he acts and his physique, if you weren't told he's just the manager in Gold Express, you'd mistake him for the owner. The cost of his shoes alone were his salary for a month. You begin to wonder how he does it. He had both arms in his pocket on his entrance. He smirked at some ladies who were checking him out while he passed. His smile.

There were mysteries to this man. No one could understand why he always used the back entrance of the Hotel, as if hiding himself from something, or someone. Why he hardly spoke. Why he looked so warm, yet so cold. He had been working here for just three months, and in that three months he was the most popular man in the building. Rumor had it, that the increase in guests and tourists at Gold Express was because of him.

Those who had spoken to him, confessed his voice was as angelic as his stature. Not just anyone could access him. No one could go into his office, except his assistant of course, Martha. Somehow, she acted as his spokesman, giving orders on his behalf and attending meetings. He did things that would get him fired but no one seemed to care. Martha loved every bit of it, being the only one able to access the most powerful man in the building. Did i say powerful. Her job was envied by so many who'd want her position and she wasted no time to show them their place.

Shawn Lannister was walking towards me. He walked through the queue at the reception, gracefully, and the crowd didn't grumble the way they did when i cut line. That power. The crowd actually pave him way to the front desk. Lucky son of a bitch. His shoulder brushed mine a little while we stood at the front desk and i felt a wave of lightning flow through me from the contact. His scent filled my nostrils. My figure looking diminished and little compared to his. But no, i won't let him intimidate me or get into my head again.

I hated this man.

"Tori, can you please check what i asked you to, I'm in a hurry." I said, eager to get far away from him as possible.

There was no reply from Tori, she looked too dazed to move her body. Her eyes not tearing from his face. Personally, i felt the way ladies drooled over this man was obnoxious.

Tori shook her head, coming back to her senses as he cleared his throat.

He continued to stare at her, expecting her to figure out why he waited. All he did was narrow his eyes and firmed his jaws, making his well defined cheek bones pronounce. Anger reverberated through his features.

"Mr. Lannister," Tori said, her face looking like she just realized something. "I will get you the reports right now." She said, as she searched through her drawers. The Tori lady totally forgot the queue and the fact that i had been waiting, because of this man.

"Tori, for the love of God, please check my orders! " I snapped as she continued to attend to his files, ignoring me. "Can you not hear me!"

A low chuckle escaped his lips, which made me turn towards him. He was mocking me. He had that smirk that said I'm the king, bitch. The spark in his eyes would make any lady slip to the floor, but not me.

We continued to stare at each other. His smile not fading. I could feel my head heat up as my blood boiled. He knew the effect he had on me and he was enjoying it. The temperature of the room seemed to increase. My face gave out a shade of red and something sparked in me. Anger.

Tori's voice broke our little staring competition. "Mr. Lannister, here is your file." She said, as she handed it to him. He took it from her and was reading through it.

I inhaled sharply. What the hell was i thinking. I couldn't compete with him. He was the manager here and i was just an event planner, practically a nobody. I bit my bottom lip as i began to walk away embarrassed, mortified and defeated.

I pressed the elevator button and it opened. I stepped in and pressed in my floor. I raised my head up and our eyes met one more time, his expression giving nothing. We didn't break contact till the elevator doors were completely closed.
