✈️. 3RD PERSON’S POV
Her next memory was the bandit camp. Collin tried recalling how they ended up in that sinister camp but only remembered how Jacen awfully died that day.
After escaping from those bandit guards, Collin initiated a plan where they’ll escape through the gate but upon seeing smasher zombies caged at the back, she immediately warned Jacen not to pry on them.
Yet, Jacen was unreasonably stubborn. On their cases, they already warned her about how dangerous those zombies are and avoid being seen by them but on Jacen’s case, she wasn’t paying attention because her eyes were too focused on Stormy’s safety.
Stormy was wrapping a rope on her hand, the one that they will use to trap these huge sized undeads. Jacen was only looking out for her, so no matter what the group says, she didn’t heed to them.
“Are you sure this will even work?” a distant voice echoed through Collin’s head. It was Mavis but the girl beside her was wrapping the rope around her hand tight as possible.
It was the memory of how they escaped the bandit camp. When Stormy initiated the plan, both her and Jacen made their way through the gate and silently trapping the smashers that Mavis and Asteria were releasing.
Once they were released, the smashers ran all the way through the gate where they saw dead bodies of the bandits to prey on them.
The deceased smell of blood rushed inside the smashers that they raged through the gate, enough for both Stormy and Jacen to struggle from releasing the rope that is already being tied on the zombies.
“Teka, hindi ko maalis sa kamay ko! masyado nilang hinihila!” Stormy cried.
Jacen panicked, running to her side and without a single hesitation, she detached the rope tied around Stormy’s hands and placed it on hers.
“What the hell are you doing? kapag nahila ka nila, sabay sabay kayong tutumba sa gate na yan” Stormy implied and tried removing the ropes on Jacen but the latter did not falter and pushed her away.
“Jace? ano ba? what are you doing?” Stormy’s voice cracked, slowly realizing what Jacen is up to at this point. Jacen on the other hand held her tears and faced Stormy with a stronger gaze.
“Kung hinayaan kitang madala, it will forever haunt me but if you let me do this for you, hindi ka magsisisi na makakatakas kayo”
Jacen’s voice was low, her tone implying a hint of desperation yet, the disappointment was visible. Jacen is desperate to get Stormy and her friends out of that camp while being disappointed at the fact that one has to sacrifice, in exchange of someone’s life.
“Jacen, hindi pwede! you know I can’t do this without you” Stormy begged and held the sides of Jacen’s face.
“I’m sorry, Stormy. But these girls needs you, kung pareho tayong mawawala paano na sila? diba ikaw na nagsabi na gusto mo sila tulungan? you’re always willing to save others even if it cost your own life at sayo ko yun natutunan”
The air was starting to get emotional, the weigh of Stormy’s fear dawned on her like an anchor and losing Jacen was always her biggest fear. The thought of it makes her sick to the point that she just wanted to die along with her but Stormy knows, she knows damn well that Jacen won’t let her.
