"Good morning," Cecilia heard a soft whisper in her ear, still half asleep while enjoying the warmth of the body she was entangled with.
"Not yet," she giggled back without opening her eyes while hiding herself deeper into John's embrace.
"Oh, come on," John laughed quietly as he whispered again, "I've been waiting for you to wake up for an eternity."
"So another eternity isn't going to hurt," Cecilia laughed as she finally opened her eyes and smiled at him, "Good morning."
A light kiss then landed on her nose and then on her lips as John snaked his arms around her even tighter and stared at the object of his everlasting affection.
"How did you sleep?" he asked and smiled.
"Amazing," she smiled back, "Absolutely amazing."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah," Cecilia nodded and planted a kiss on John's lips while an infectious grin formed on his face.
She loved how he looked at her with such loving eyes and how he couldn't stop smiling at her and how she couldn't stop smiling at him and how her stomach was suddenly filled with the most exciting butterflies. She felt as light as air and she thought about how she hadn't felt this way in the longest of time – so consumed by one person, so consumed by the way she felt about him. Just so, so undeniably in love.
The twinkle she saw in John's eyes was something she hadn't witnessed in years and it made her feel all kinds of fuzzy and warm and almost as if she was floating on some soft cloud only she had the privilege of accessing. The previous night had been an experience of both absolute electricity and serenity and during the whole of it, Cecilia's heart wouldn't stop pounding while every kiss and every touch that landed on her body made her head dizzy and her whole body buzz.
Every second they spent in each other's arms felt so new and yet so familiar at the same time and neither Cecilia or John couldn't have wished for their impromptu reunion to be any sweeter than it turned out to be. It was both delicate and gentle, but still perfectly and wonderfully messy at the right moments and Cecilia knew that there was no other place on the whole planet, where she would have rather been or even should have been.
"So, what now?" she shyly asked after a few seconds of thoughtful silence between the two, their fingers intertwined and the look in John's eyes ever so soft.
"Whatever you wish," he smiled as Cecilia felt him squeeze her hand lightly, almost as in assurance.
"Two plane tickets to somewhere far, far away," she giggled while placing a kiss on John's hand.
"Well.." he laughed, "As much as it sounds as the most wonderful idea, I have a band rehearsal today. So maybe we can postpone that plan for a little later?"
"I suppose we can," Cecilia nodded and smiled, "I have some stuff to take care of today as well."
"Yeah? Like what?"
"I have to uh..," she mumbled, "Go and get my things from the apartment I used to uh.. live in and then figure out, where I am going to stay."
"Do you have any options?" John inquired.
"Nope," Cecilia shook her head and then laughed sarcastically, "As you know, I am currently not on the best terms with the people I would usually go to."
"Well..," John mumbled inbetween his thoughts, then hesitantly offered, "You can uh.. Move in with me."
Cecilia stared at John in silence, slightly taken aback by the sudden offer, but not as shocked as she initially would have thought. Moving in with someone is always a big deal, but for some reason, John's offer didn't seem that crazy to her at all. Not even when she thought about the fact that only 24 hours ago, she had been engaged to another man and lived a life that basically didn't involve John at all.
