about: title "pool" with loki

the sun is not overbearing.

surprisingly enough, the long dreaded summer has not been as bad as you and loki expected. the moment the heat began to sneak into your room through the cracks of your door, you had practically packed suitcases full with your things, bags ready for you both to go off to asgard to escape the bright sun that would inevitably come and overwhelm loki and you. but you waited for the day that would bring a frustrated, overheated loki's fingers threading through yours with your suitcases at his side, the tesseract at his hand already set to transfer you both to the pleasant cool of asgard.

the day never came, instead replaced by afternoons spent walking around the park or evening dinners eaten outside. today, you had even managed to convince loki to come with you to the pool, which he had only agreed to because you had promised you'd let him drag you off to wherever during the cold winter nights- which you usually refused due to your ironic sensibility to cold; everyone always said you were like yin and yang, you figured they didn't want to see exactly how similar you, a healing creature, could be to loki, the being with "murderous" underlined thrice under his picture.

you were walking with him to the garden outside where the pool was; your hand in his, your pleasant warmth and his refreshing coolness mixing into your skin. the light cover up you had on tickled your legs, the tiny yellow flowers dotting it matching with loki. the god was wearing a loose shirt you had bought him as a joke but he loved anyway, decorated with small sunflowers and the top button undone to show the cream of his skin. you stole a glance at him as he pulled open the door for you, lips pushing up higher as you tug on the bottom of his shirt. "thank you, my love," you say, walking out and inhaling the sweet scent of bloomed flowers. "the pool looks so nice," you gasp, arm extending to point at it.

it really did, the pale blue water sparkled under the gentle sun and licked at the plants surrounding it, looking inviting as ever. loki's hands snuck around your waist, pressing at your waist past the sheen cover up to press his natural cold to you. you hummed at him, welcoming the temperature before turning to him, his fingers now tracing shapes along your covered back.

"c'mon," you start, your own fingers already toying with the rest of the buttons on his shirt. "let's go in," you wink, unwrapping his arms around you and pressing your fingertip against his shirt two times before reaching to take off your cover up.

loki's eyes trace over your figure before grabbing your hand, "i am afraid i'm in need of assistance," he says, eyes flitting from yours to his buttoned shirt. you laugh airily, undoing the buttons as you shake your head, "i thought simple midgardians could never assist gods," you tease, your fingertips leaving swirls of warmth along his chest as you go closer to the last button.

"you are no simple midgardian," loki muses, pulling your chin up to meet your eyes when you finish unbuttoning his shirt. "i better not be," you smile, pressing your lips to his after a moment.

"now, come on!" you urge, tugging on him as you head for the pool. he obliges with a chuckle, letting you lead him into the cold water until it's up to your chest. you shiver, pressing up against your boyfriend, "i hear 'wading' helps you warm up," loki advises, "yeah?" you question, "i can think of another thing that can warm me up," you grin, looping your arms around his neck.

"not in my pool!" stark screeches from somewhere, making you pull away from your god and sigh dramatically.

"i suppose we'll have to stick to wading," loki muses disappointedly.
