(A/N - Hi everyone! This chapter is a long one. There are some dark themes, however overall it's a really heartwarming chapter with some heartbreaking moments. I really loved writing this chapter, there was so much I wanted to tell. Chapter nine will focus more on Rikka and Makoto, there's a story I want to tell with them. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas have a Happy New Year! See you all in 2022!)

Over the coming days, the Precure took turns in luring out the Shifter. Days turned into weeks. Weeks turned into months. Before everyone knew it, Christmas was dawning upon them.
Mana was especially jovial for the festive season. She always loved Christmas. She loved sitting down on Christmas Day and opening her presents while watching everyone else open their gifts.
This year was especially different. She got to spend it with the one she loved. Regina.

Regina was nervous for Christmas. For starters, it would be her first Christmas, and she also didn't know what to do.
Nevertheless, with some sisterly help from her little sister, she found herself enjoying the festive season.

The blonde looked at her gift for her girlfriend. She was certain she would love it. If not, well... that would mean a lot of money went to waste.

"Yo! Blondie!" Someone yelled from afar. A tall girl with brown hair quickly approached her. Her blue eyes glistened in the sunlight.

"Me?" Asked Regina, dumbfounded. The girl looked familiar to her, but she couldn't quite remember where she had seen her.
"Hey. I'm Yuki. I've been trying to talk to you for the past few weeks but I've not had chance." She huffed.

Now Regina remembered. Yuki was a fairly quiet but popular girl in Regina's year. She was smart, athletic, and she certainly had the looks.

"Did you need something? I'm sorry I've just been so busy lately." Stated Regina with a smile.
"I want to be your friend!"

Regina quickly raised an eyebrow. Did she mean that? Or did Yuki have ulterior motives?
"I guess you can..."

The taller girl quickly embraced her new friend and gave a warm smile. Regina quickly returned it with a smile of her own.
'Perhaps she just genuinely wants to be my friend.'

"I also got you a present. I got one for Aida-Senpai too." Yuki chimed, quickly pulling out two wrapped gifts from a bag.
She presented them to Regina with a smile.
Regina hesitantly took the gifts and smiled.
"D-do you wanna hang out for a bit?" Yuki quickly offered.

"I guess it won't hurt to hang out for a bit." Regina accepted with a small grin.
With that, the two girls set off in the direction of a coffee shop.

"Do you like coffee?" Asked Yuki.
"I love coffee. What about you?" Regina replied.
"I'm absolutely addicted. I only limit myself to three a day, though. Any more than that and well, my life doesn't become pleasant..."

Regina smiled softly at her taller friend.
The two girls entered and made their orders. Yuki, a lattè, and Regina, a double-chocolate mocha.
"It's nice really..." Yuki started, "hanging out with a friend I mean. I never really get to do this..."

Regina looked at her friend. What could Yuki mean by that?

"Most of my 'friends' just use me because I'm smart and 'attractive'. So many just my body. Not me as a whole... it hurts."

Regina placed her hand on Yuki's and smiled.
"I would never use you. Never ever. Neither would Mana or the others."

Yuki began to smile.
'I would love to be a friend to the Precure...' she thought to herself.
At that very moment, a waiter arrived, placing the two hot beverages in front of the girls.
"Thank you." Said Yuki as she took in the scent of her beverage.
