Mana took a seat on the floor and looked up at her lover.
Regina looked down at her, a dejected expression on her face.
"Yuki's family died one year ago." She said slowly.

Mana took a moment to process what Regina had just told her.
Yuki's family were dead.
"What... happened?" Mana asked gently.

Regina sighed and recalled the events Yuki had spoken about, detailing how she had no other immediate family after the car accident, since her grandparents all died years prior, and Yuki's parents were only children, and had no siblings.

Mana listened intently, her expression darkening as Regina told the tragic tale.
"I-I could have done something... I could have saved them..." she cried, quickly becoming wracked with guilt.

"Mana, it's arrogant for you to blame yourself like that," Regina started, "it's that driver's fault. You couldn't have saved them no matter what!"

Mana looked down, hurt at Regina's words. She didn't want to believe her. She wanted to believe that she could have done something. She wanted to put a smile on everyone's faces.

The door then opened to reveal a weary Yuki, exhausted from all of her crying. Her long brown hair was tied into a bun, having had a shower not too long ago.
Regina stood up from her chair and quickly embraced her taller friend, now clad in some of Mana's pyjamas.
An inflatable mattress had been set under Mana's high bed.

"U-uhm... Regina...?" Yuki whispered to her friend, a blush beginning to form on her cheeks.
"Can you... sleep with me tonight...? If you don't mind of course!"

Regina tilted her head and looked back at Mana, the latter of which feeling a strange pain in her heart.
"Sure! I don't mind." She said cheerily.

The blonde then turned back to the brunette and smiled. "I guess we're sleeping together then, Yuki-chan."
Yuki began to smile, and then yawned, showing her exhaustion.
Regina couldn't help but yawn as well, and then both girls decided to get tucked into bed.

Mana smiled at the girls before climbing into her bed and lying down. But she couldn't sleep.

She had grown far too used to feeling Regina's warmth. Her sweet loving embrace. Without it, she just... couldn't drift off to sleep.

Mana was still awake when the sun began to beam through the blinds.
She couldn't sleep a wink. She tossed and turned and draped an arm over her face. All to no avail.

So, out of boredom, and now that it was early morning, Mana began to read a book while listening to some music through some earphones.
Eventually she heard a groan and a yawn from beneath her. She leaned over to see Yuki awake, looking to her side and seeing a sleeping Regina, who looked truly adorable.

She always did look angelic when she was sleeping.

Mana felt something poke the side of her head. She turned her head to see Yuki, on her tip toes looking at her.
"Sorry for having Regina with me last night," she started in a whisper, "I just really needed somebody by my side."

Mana nodded, understanding the situation, and a little relieved knowing her girlfriend was still only hers.
"It's okay... I'm sorry for what happened..."

Yuki nodded slowly. "I see you as an older sister, Mana... you're that type of gal someone like me needs."

Mana tilted her head and nodded. She was far too exhausted to truly understand Yuki's words.
Seemingly appearing from thin air, Regina started crawling onto Mana's bed and wrapped her arms around her tightly.
"I could tell you were moping over something..." she deadpanned, despite her loving actions. However, the pink-haired girl relaxed into her arms and began to relax.
