13 - Something's Wrong With Regina

Everyone had gathered around the table for a hearty feast. Mana was elated to have her wonderful girlfriend home. She missed waking up to her adorable face.

After the meal, and stuffed full of food, Regina and Mana made their way to bed.
The blonde found it hard to climb the ladders to get onto the bed as Mana quickly grabbed her, pulling her away and holding her tightly.

Due to how light she was, and how naturally strong Mana was, she had no struggles in holding her up.
"You've no idea how much I missed you." Mana whispered into her girlfriend's ear as she set the smaller girl down.

Blue eyes looked into magenta ones. Regina pressed her lips against Mana's and wrapped her arms around her neck. The taller girl wrapped her arms around the blonde's small waist.
"I missed looking at your cute face~" Regina teased as she kissed the end of Mana's nose, causing her to giggle and blush.

Eventually, the couple changed into pyjamas and made their way to their bed. Regina immediately spread herself out the moment her entire body was on the mattress. It was nice to be back on her bed. A comfy mattress with comfy pillows and comfy covers. And she got to share it with the most amazing person she knew.

Mana couldn't help but laugh at Regina's antics and carefully moved onto the bed beside her before lying down, propping herself up, so her stomach wouldn't hate her later.
Her girlfriend, satisfied, huddled up to her and rested her head on her thigh.
This allowed Mana to run her fingers through Regina's hair, something the latter loved.

Eventually, both girls fell asleep.

However, the uncomfortable feeling Mana had gotten earlier that day returned. And this time it was much stronger.

It was around 3AM when she woke herself up.
The uncomfortable, sickening feeling was at its strongest now.
Turning on the light beside her, she could see why.

Regina was no longer there.

Confused but still tired, she sloppily climbed out of bed. She almost shrieked when somebody grabbed her arm and she was dragged under her bed.
Yuki looked at her with wide eyes. She looked distressed.
"Mana, I think something is wrong with Regina." She whispered.

The older girl could only tilt her head in confusion. Yuki sighed and rolled up one of her sleeves. It occurred to her after a moment that the once white pyjama sleeve was now stained red with blood. A deep gash

"S-she said we should have paid more attention."

Mana tried her best to recall every detail of Regina.
She couldn't have done this, surely.

She climbed back onto her bed to grab her phone, only to find Regina, shivering.
"R-Regina...?" Mana said cautiously.

"M-Mana... please... that wasn't me..." she croaked.

Mana ignored her, and advanced on her position. She grabbed Regina's arms and held them tightly, forcing the blonde to stay still.
She could only defencelessly look into her lover's eyes, who was currently on top of her, wearing a serious expression.

"Regina, what are you hiding?"

This was the question Regina feared.
She didn't want to reveal that an evil side to her still remained.
An evil side that started to rear it's ugly head.

"M-Mana... when I lost that fight with Bel... he awoke that... dark side. And now it's separated and it's going around hurting people! B-but it can also take over me..."

Regina burst into tears after revealing her secret.

Mana looked into her sad blue eyes and planted a kiss to her lips before grabbing her Cure Loveaid that held her hair up and attaching it to Regina's hair.
It would purify any darkness the second it attempts to enter her.
