20. Thinking hard

Conner's pov 

Once he closes the door behind him he turns to me. "Are you sure we are ready to hide a marriage. We don't even have a label on us yet" I keep my tone low for no one around can hear us. 

"I tired to put a label on it but you turned it down" He runs his hand through his hair. "Because I wanted it to be a surprise, something special, it's not that I don't want to date you because I do. I just wanted it to be a surprise" My hands go up to the side of his face, making him look at me.

"You do want to date me" A small smile tugs at the corner of his lips. "Of course I do" I rub my thumb gently on his cheek. 

He pulls me closer to him and kisses me. After a while I smile into the kiss and he just looks at me. "Date me please" He sticks out his bottom lip a little into a pout. "Fine" I sigh jokingly. 

He goes to walk away jokingly but I grab his arm and pull him back into me, slamming my lips onto his. "Yes, yes yes" I say in between kisses. 

He tucks a piece of my hair behind my ear and just looks at me. "I know we are no wheres near marriage, we just put a label on us 5 seconds ago but maybe we can make it work because I don't want to go through all the trouble to get a divorce." He utters. 

"I don't either so lets try to make this work." I smile. "We will keep you a secret though, being in the public eye sucks" Mateo kisses my cheek. 

"Okay good, I don't know how I would feel with my face all over the world" I chuckle at the thought. 

"We will have to tell Hannah and Gabbie about the entire thing" I wince. 

Telling them will be difficult. I hate the fact that I kept a secret from them in the first place but I had to. 

He pinches the bridge of his nose and lightly shakes his head "we can tell them some time this week" He sighs. 

I smile and take his hand, pulling him back into the room with his mother and father. 

As soon as we walk in they just look at us. "We decided to not get divorced and we are not going public with it either" Mateo declares. 

His fathers face turns with disappointment written all over it and he scoffs "Fine but if this fails, its all your fault". 

He stands up from his chair and pushes past us and out the door. Cleo stands up rather slowly, not saying anything. 

"I see how you too look at each other, both of your eyes are filled with so much love whether you know it or not. And the way you to are around each other, it's like your heart belongs to the other person already. You both have a longing for each other that is stronger than one I have ever seen. I believe you two will try you hardest to make it work but if you don't then it won't be your fault. It will be the worlds for ripping soulmates apart" His mother utters with certainty in her tone. 

She walks out the door beside us and I just look at Mateo, not knowing what to say after what his mother said. 

"I know we can make this work Conner, we may be young and still learning stuff about each other but I know we can make this work" Mateo kisses my forehead. 

"I know we can too" I smile up at him.

"So what was it you wanted to tell us" Gabbie asks, sitting down on the couch beside Jackson. 

Mateo and I were gonna wait to tell them everything but we better rip the bandied off now. 

I sigh and look over at Mateo to find him already looking at me. 

He turns his attention back on Gabbie and takes my hand, interlocking our fingers. 

"As you guys already know, we got drunk and then got married in Vegas" Mateo sighs, refreshing their minds. 

Gabbie and Hannah both nod. I watch as Jackson takes Gabbie's hand, preparing her for whats about to come. 

"Well we were gonna get a divorce but then we started dating and now we are gonna try to make it work. We even hired a private lawyer to do the divorce papers so no one finds out" Mateo utters. 

"You guys are way to young for marriage, how are you gonna make it work" Gabbie scoffs. "I know we are too young but that doesn't matter" Mateo replies. 

"Guys" Hannah says but everyone ignores her. 

"You can't tie Conner down like that. She only just turned 18 before the trip to Vegas. Your a good guy and all but maybe she wants to explore all the fish in the sea" Gabbie raises her tone. I know she only wants what is best for me but I know what I am doing now is the best for me. 

I have never felt this happy after Liam. And all thanks to Mateo, I do. 

"Guys" Hannah raises her tone but yet again, she gets ignored. 

"Me and Conner talked about it and its what we both want" Mateo raises his voice to match hers. Gabbie looks at me but then back at Mateo "I swear to god if you hurt her Mateo" Gabbie points her finger at him. 

"I would never hurt her" Mateo speaks certainly and I know he means it. 

"Guys" Hannah yells, making everyone silent and turn her way. 

"Finally, Mateo why did you say private lawyer and not just a lawyer" Hannah questions. She always has been the one to pick up on little things that most of us miss. 

Mateo's head falls to the ground and he takes a deep breath. "He's the prince of Greece. His parents are Nicolas and Cleo Alvarez, king and queen of Greece" I step in for him. 

Hannah and Gabbie's jaw drops as the both stair at us in shock. 

"Your a prince" Hannah almost mumbles to her self. Mateo just nods. 

"Damn" Gabbie sighs. 

I just want to put it out there that you can get married at any age if that's what you want. And please don't hate Gabbie for reacting the way she did, she only wants the best for Conner who is her best friend.
