23. Kiss and tell

Mateo's pov   *Before Gabbie saw anything*

I stroll into the office, looking down at the bracelet on my wrist. I don't think I have ever been happier. 

I glance up from the bracelet and see Cassidy sitting down at the desk, in the chair behind the desk. 

"Cassidy what do you want" I sigh. I am honestly not in the mood to deal with her right now, especially after having an amazing moment with my girl. 

"I want you to dump her. Me and you would make a way cuter couple" She bites her bottom lip, winking at me. I feel like barfing. 

The only girl I want winking at me is Conner. 

"Fuck no and never bring up Conner again. You don't deserve to have her name in your disgusting mouth" I scoff. "Don't be like that sugar pie" She pouts as she walks over to me, rubbing her hands against my chest. 

I grip her wrists and hold them away from my body. "I said fuck no. Now leave" I raise my tone. She looks regretful for a second before turning back to her annoying self. 

"Look at you all mad" She licks her bottom lip and I want to put bleach in my eyes so I don't have to see that again. 

"Cassidy leav-" I get interrupted when she slams her lips on mine. I stand still for a split second in complete shock until a small noise from behind the door clicks me back into reality and I shove her away from me. 

"Don't you ever do that again" I keep my voice stern. "Jeez okay" Her eyes narrow before she walks out the door in a hurry. 

I sit down at my desk with my heart racing. 

I have to tell Conner. That's what you do in a relationship, you tell the other person when some one else kisses you. 

Conner's pov

I take the tray of cookies out of the oven and set them on top of the stove, letting them cool down. 

Noah quickly steals one from behind me and shoves it in his mouth before I get the chance to say anything. "They are fresh out of the oven Noah" I don't even get to finish what I was gonna say by him spitting out the cookie and rinsing his mouth out in the sink. 

"That's what you get for trying to steal one of my cookies" I laugh. He grabs a towel and wipes his mouth, then throws it at me.  Causing me to break out laughing. 

Gabbie and Jackson walk in and take a seat at the bar stools. Gabbie kind of hides her face from me with her hand and doesn't pay much attention to me. 

She has been that was since we got home from the castle today. 

The front door opens and I rush to see who it is. Mateo. 

I quickly jump in his arms and wrap my arms around his neck. He luckily catches me and I wrap my legs around his waist. "You just saw me 3 hours ago" He chuckles as he kisses my cheek. 

"I know but would it be a crime to miss you" I put my forehead on his. "Not at all" He kisses my lips softly as he lowers me back down to the ground. 

I pull away from his lips and take his hand to drag him into the kitchen. 

As soon as I walk in Gabbie's mouth opens to say something but closes right afterwards. I need to know what is going on with her. 

"There is cookies over there, make sure Noah doesn't eat anymore" I tell Mateo before grabbing Gabbie's hand and leading her out of the room. 

I lead her upstairs into my bedroom. Once I shut the door I turn so I am facing her. "What the hell is going on with you" I ask, my voice stern. 

"Nothing" She starts slowly pacing the room back and forth. "Gabbie please tell me, I am your best friend" I take a few steps closer to her and grab her wrists so she would stop pacing. 

"I saw Mateo kissing another girl when he was in his office. When I went to go say goodbye to Jackson I got lost and I peeked inside of Mateo's office to see him kissing a girl" She finishes and my heart sinks to the core of the earth. 

I stumble back until my back hits the wall and I slide down it slowly. 

I curl my legs up and hold them close to my chest. Gabbie quickly sits down beside and hugs me tightly while my entire world crashes around me. 

I say silent in shock for a moment, everything I just heard running through my thoughts. 

I trusted him. I let him into my life. I was falling in love with him. 

"What did she look like" I ask quietly. Gabbie pulls away and looks at me for a second before speaking "Brown long hair, a crop top that barely covered anything, and a pair of shorts" She tries to remember the most but I don't even need to know anything else to know who she is. 

Cassidy. 

I break out of Gabbie's arm and open the door, rushing down stairs with tears now starting to pour down my face. I hear Gabbie follow closely behind me. 

I walk into the kitchen, everything a blur from the tears in my eyes. I rip off the bracelet on my wrist and slam it down on the counter in front of Mateo. His face turns with worries and scared. 

I don't see much though from the tears pouring down my face and blurring my eyes. 

"It was a mistake letting you into my life" I try and keep my voice normal but it turns into a sob. 

"Con- I don't want to hear it" I interrupt him before he gets the chance to say anything then storm out the front door. 

I quickly get into the rental car Mateo got for us a while ago so that we can actually go places and drive out of the drive way. 

I need to get away from him.
