We walked down the stairs and into a large room, that reminded me of an older restaurant, with tables scattered about, and a bar in one corner.
"So what would you like to know, Thomas?" Fiz asked, leading me to a table in the middle of the room and sitting down. Her breasts rested on the table as she leaned forward, smiling cutely at me.
"Well, I'm not entirely sure where to start... you mentioned a goddess?" I asked.
"Yup yup! The goddess of light created our sun, redeeming it from the world that the Ancients left in ruins," Fiz explained. "She's worshipped by a large majority of the population."
"Including you, I take it?"
Fiz nodded, her ears flopping up and down.
"I'm actually a priestess, meaning that I'm allowed to use Light magic~" The bunny hummed, clearly very pleased with the fact.
"Magic, huh? How does it work?" I leaned over as a tall woman with pointed ears placed two plates of pancakes on our table. They looked fluffy and soft, and comfortably familiar.
"Well, there's lots of different types, and each type usually has three subtypes," Fiz began. "I use light magic, right? Well, the subtypes for Light are Shine, Holy, and Healing."
"And all magic types have that?" I asked, cutting a slice of my pancake and nibbling it. It was honestly far better than the ones I make.
"As far as I'm aware, but... well, magic's not easy to classify, and new types can he found all the time," Fiz explains, cutting a chunk out of her pancake stack and stuffing it into her mouth.
"What's magic used for?" I asked after she finished chewing.
"Lots! Transport, helping others, duels, even fighting monsters." She explained energetically.
"Monsters?"
"Yup yup! They're, like, bits of broken souls and corrupt magic, and tend to be really destructive."
"...souls?"
"Nobody really understands souls, Thomas. They're... the source of emotions, probably? Only sentient creatures have proper souls, other life forms have soul fragments and stuff."
"Okay... I'm not sure I have any other questions... yet."
"Okay! That means it's my turn!"
"For questions?"
"Yup yup!" She bounced in her chair, causing her hair, ears, and chest to bounce with her. "I've never really gotten a chance to talk to a Hero!"
"What do you mean by Hero?"
"That's what it's called when someone is summoned from another world like you were. It's not uncommon for a brave soul to be snatched just before death."
"... so I've been Isekai'd..." I mumbled to myself.
"Huh?"
"Oh, uh, nothing, Fiz." I said. Her hearing must be pretty impressive - of course, given her ears, that should be obvious.
"Okay, so... what was your world like?" She asked.
"Hard to explain, but... there were lots of machines and all sorts of technology. Everyone in the world was connected through a network of them, actually. You could buy a pillow from the other side of the planet and get it in a day."
"Sounds impressive."
"Yeah, most people didn't really know how it all worked, and others knew too much about it. Outside of that, we had cities filled with metal and glass towers, and we even carved through mountains."
Fiz shivered, setting her fork down on her empty plate.
"What's up?" I asked softly.
"... sounds overwhelming. I like how simple this world is." She said, her voice slightly soft. "Big places scare me a little bit."
"Yeah, I'm not a fan of huge cities like that," I admitted, setting down my own fork.
"I'll show you the rest of Kaeol!" Fiz smiled, hopping up and stepping toward the door. I rose and followed a she opened the door, and bright light flooded my vision.
