"I don't think you get the point of these kinds of games," Dyhart said, looking at Fiz's character sheet. "Your character is a cute bunny with healing PSI and all her points are in either Evasion, support, or cuteness."
"Mhm!" Fiz nods, smiling brightly. "I like being cute!"
"... you don't want to, say, summon lighting?" He asked.
"Nao! Lightning is really loud and scary." She said. "I just wanna help my teammates!"
"To be fair, my character is a tall, intimidating bunny with a lot of physical PSI," Emi pointed out. "And Luna is playing a bard with support PSI."
Dyhart pouted. "Fiiine. You're all boring."
"... am I boring?" I ask, looking at my own sheet. I ended up choosing a human - because they're a neutral race - and then getting elemental PSI.
"You're basically a wild card. Not boring, but you'll have more difficulty than the others." Dyhart said, pulling out a set of miniatures. Lots of them looked like store-bought stuff, but it looked like Emi and Luna had made their own... or at least lucked into something that fit them. Fiz squealed in delight and grabbed a model of a rabbit.
"Pyon~ look at the little loaf!" She bubbled, sitting it down on the table in front of her. I laughed softly, grabbing a model from the bucket.
"... this looks like a toy I had when I was a kid." I noted.
"Yeah, they're not in production anymore, but I like using them for Starlight Wilds!" Dyhart grinned. "I've got, like, a hundred of them!"
"Amatur!" I said, scoffing theatrically. "I've got almost six hundred!"
Dyhart gasped, grasping his chest. "No! My pride as a nerd! It has been wounded!"
"Right, now that you've had your weird show of power," Luna said, sitting down across from Dyhart and setting down a wooden case. She flipped up the lid, revealing an absurd amount of dice.
"You call me weird?" I asked jokingly.
"Yes," Luna nodded calmly, handing several to Fiz, who furrowed a brow at them.
"There's so many sides," She said quietly.
"Don't tell me you've never gambled?" Emi asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Okay, I won't," Fiz smiled innocently. I laughed softly and rubbed her head.
"Right, I've not played, but I think I understand the basic concept. How are we starting?"
Dyhart smiled, checking something on his phone.
"Alright, the four of you wake up in a metallic room. You're separated by a clear plastic wall, but you've got-"
"I kick the wall and shatter it." Emi deadpans.
"Dammit, can you at least let me finish?" Dyhart sighs. "But yeah, don't bother rolling, your base stat is enough to break it."
Fiz tilts her head, her ears flopping into my arm. "So, we're kinda, like, telling a story together?"
Dyhart nods. "Yeah, basically. Obviously, a character with low strength isn't going to be able to kick through a wall... though, your character could probably charm and-slash-or seduce people.
"We've been lacking a proper people person," Luna noted. "Dyhart, are our characters the same ones from the last campaign?"
"Uh- yes, but you've got none of your weapons or skills," He said.
"Situational amnesia, I guess. And we don't know Fiz or Thomas?" Emi asked.
Dyhart shrugged. "That's up to you."
"... Emi broke the barrier between us, right? Wouldn't make the one trapping us fragile and crackly?" Fiz asked. "Emi! Kick it again!" She pumps both of her fists excitedly.
Emi nods. "Alright, let's try that. I was going to have us do character introductions first, but let's get out of here first."
Dyhart nodded, smiling mischievously. "As the plastic shatters, alarms go off down the hall. Heavy steel doors slam shut on either side of the chamber, trapping you again."
