Guided by Fate (Fiz-Bun Fluff)

Chapter 7

The blacksmith's shop was fairly large, but still somewhat cramped, due to the weapons and weapons lining the walls.

The man at the counter was fairly thin, with a scar over her left shoulder. His eyes lit up upon seeing Fiz.

"Fiz! Who's this?" He asked, his voice booming. I stepped back, surprised by his volume.

"This is Thomas! He's a Hero!" She grins, bouncing on her heels.

"So Fiz is on your party, Thomas? Wonderful! She's a wonderful healer and a very nice lady," He smiled. "My name is Zauz. Feel free to take any one item you'd like... Just show me first so I can replace it."

"Really?" I asked, walking toward a wall and looking at a series of charms. "What are these?"

"Ooh-ho, those are my pride and joy! They're called armor charms," He explained. "They utilize Barrier magic to form a thin force field around the wearer."

"He gave me one for my birthday last year!" Fiz smiled happily, pointing at a small gemstone set into her collar.

"Do the colors mean anything?" I asked, examining the rainbow of colors.

"Not really. I simply infused the spells into gemstones, since the vibrations keep the magic fresh."

"Fresh?"

"Magic fades over time if it's not refreshed," Fiz explained. "Gemstones are great at that... or, obviously, recasting the spell."

"Why don't you also get yourself a weapon?" Zauz asked.

"What have you got?"

"What do you want?"

I looked around for a moment before stepping up to a decently-sized, one-handed sword and carefully taking it off the display stand.

"Perfectly balanced," I said to myself. "How much is this one?"

"About 5 Gold... but since you're travelling with Fiz-Bun, I'll cut the price to 3."

I nodded and fished out the three golden coins, handing them to him. He placed them into a small box and smiled. "Have a great day, you two. Make sure you visit if you need anything else, okay?"

"Of course!" Fiz grinned, waving happily as we walked outside.

"What do we need to pick up next?" I asked, looking around. We were probably about 3/4 of the way through the day.

"We'll need food, fire making gear, and maybe some sleeping bags?" She said, counting on her fingers. "The food shouldn't be too much of a problem. I've got nearly a month's worth of food in hammer space, and it doesn't spoil while they're in there."

"So just stuff for a fire and sleeping bags?"

"Well, sleeping bag, singular. I've got one, but I don't think that we would both fit.." She blushes softly.

I blushed slightly, nodding. "Well, why don't we pick up the camping stuff? Where would we find that?"

She smiled and grabbed my arm, pulling me along the street.

Alright, there we go! I was going to do this chapter yesterday but then I threw up at 4am... So whoops. I'll try to get out another chapter later this week, though!
