I stepped out of the Inn with Fiz clinging to my arm. It honestly felt surreal - having such a pretty girl cuddling against me like this.

"Where did you want to go, Fiz?" I asked.

"Well, it's a pretty long walk, but there was a fancy building right near the gates, right?" She smiled playfully. "Why don't we go see what it is?"

I nodded, "Yeah, seems like a good place to start."

After a few minutes of walking quietly, I spoke up again.

"Hey, Fiz? I have a question."

"What is it?" She asked, her dark eyes glittering in the morning light.

"I've seen a few little glimpses of your dreams... is that okay?" I asked nervously.

"I mean, as long as it wasn't embarrassing," She beamed.

"No, not like that... they seemed more like memories. There was a huge, purple storm and... another girl, who... well, I'm not really sure."

Fiz was quiet.

"Fiz?"

"I don't remember much before I was chosen by the goddess..." She mumbled gently. "I think I must've been... fourteen, maybe? My earliest clear memory was being accepted into her church. Everything before that is hazy."

"Really?" I asked, surprised.

The bunny nodded. "Yeah. I always guessed that it was some side effect of being chosen... but what if it isn't?"

She shivered slightly.

"What if something terrible happened to me?" She asked in a hushed voice.

I silently pulled her into a tight hug, holding her for a moment.

"S-sorry, I didn't mean to-"

"It's okay. If you're worried you can tell me about anything, okay?" I smiled, kissing her forehead gently.

"Thanks, Thomas. You're a sweetie~" She pulled out of the hug and gently tugged on my arm. "C'mon, let's keep walking."

We arrived back in the central area just after noon, walking up to the large building. It was a stone spire, of sorts, like someone built the Shard out of clay and then squished it, making it short and wide. It was made of a smooth, gray-red stone, with black flecks in it.

There was an opening that let into a central round room with a spiral staircase going down in the middle. Along the walls were framed images, display cases, and other such objects, with people milling about.

"It's a museum," I said softly. "Paintings, tablets, all sorts of various things."

"This is... this is our world's history, Thomas. But I've never heard this version of the story before," Fiz hopped over to a painting on one side of the room. Glancing at the paintings along the walls, I realized she was right - each image was in a sequence, telling a story. I leaned over at the plate below the painting, reading it silently.

Yeah that's right, I'm devoting an entire chapter to reading paintings. What of it :)
