We walked into a large room with several pillars, each one with a shimmering orb floating overhead.

"What is this?" I asked, looking the orbs.

"Each one of these orbs is a magic core," Stoqur explained in a deep, gravelly voice. "Please bring yourself to whichever core most attracts you so we may begin."

I looked over the wide array of orbs.

"... is it a problem if I can't decide?" I asked.

"None call to you?" He asked in a level tone.

"No... they all do. I just can't decide where to start."

"Hm. You may be a Tinker.." He said slowly.

"What about that pretty white one?" Fiz asks.

"Please do not influence his choices," Stoqur says. "Your attunement with Light is powerful, and we do not-"

"What about that black orb in the corner?" I asked, approaching it.

"Be careful, Hero. That is an Ancient Core." The shadowy man warned.

"...I don't know what that means."

"Ancient magic is the only leftover of the previous world. It's dangerous and forbidden to nearly everyone," He explained.

"Ah. Maybe I won't screw with the eldritch magic." I decided, stepping away and toward a glittering purple orb. "What's this one?"

"Psy magic. It allows one to tap into the mind. At your level, you may be able to read surface level thoughts." He said.

"How would I use it?"

"Place your hand on the surface and..." He paused.

"Imagine your arm is like a big tube, sucking up the magic into your body! But only a little~" Fiz smiled, bouncing slightly.

I nodded and closed my eyes, feeling the magic flow.

He's very cute when he's focusing... am I...?

I glanced up. "What was that, Fiz?"

"Huh? I didn't say anything." She tilted her head.

"It seems that you may have an affinity with Psy magic. A very strong one, to be using it like that already."

"What about this one?" I asked, moving to an orb that looked... odd. You know how in, older 3D games, they would have a single, flat image that would rotate toward the camera so it looked 3D, but still saved on space? It was doing that.

"False magic. It allows for illusions and falsehoods." Stoqur said.

"...can I have multiple kinds of magic?"

Fiz giggled. "It would be strange for you to have only one!"

I placed my hand on the weird, flat orb, and absorbed the magic.

"Why don't you choose one more? You'll need something to defend yourself with."

"Right. Any ideas?" I asked.

"The most reliable types of magic are Elemental; Fire, Stone, Wind, and Water." Stoqur explained.

Fiz leaned closer and spoke in an exaggerated whisper. "You can get a lot of money with Electric magic!"

"Why's that..?"

"There are people who make canisters that you can fill with electricity!" She grins. "Then, you can plug them into really complicated machines to make them run on their own."

I stepped up to a sparking yellow orb, gently placing my hand on it. This magic was much more warm than the other two.

"You'll need to be very careful with it. Electricity is rare, but-"

"It was actually pretty common in my world, honestly. I'll be careful."

Stoqur nodded. "Very good. You've gotten your Sponsorship now, you should go about your business."

Fiz grabbed my arm. "C'mon! Let's go now, Thomas!"

So I posted this on the r/Fizintine and apparently it's a very good story, so if you've not seen that subreddit, go check it out.

Anyway, we've gotten some Magic lore updated, and now, in the next chapter I'll be talking some about Fiz herself!
