Nyx clearly wasn't fully formed - her lower body was an inky puddle of shadow, and her robe was ragged and torn. Her skin was ebony and... honestly, I'm not sure what about her it was, but she gave off an aura of wrong. Like she's not supposed to be seen.

"She's still reforming, this is going to be our only chance to fight her," Fiz yelped, holding up her staff - only for a pair of shadow hands to rip it from her grasp and scurring off to the ceiling.

"Kuro, are you with us?"

"I want to punch Nyx in the face." She said calmly, producing several purple darts. "She spent far too long playing with my heart and mind."

"Great, we need Fiz's staff back, then we'll need lots of light magic," I instructed, summoning a few electric sparks in my hand, flicking them at Nyx. She easily swatted them away, glaring at me with dark amethyst eyes - the gemstone itself, not just colored.

"Ugh, you're not going to do anything that small. Don't you know how to throw lightning or something?" Kuro huffed.

"He hasn't used it much," Fiz said, staying behind the glowing shield.

"You're incompetent. When you learn magic, you should practice it," Kuro instructed. "And to think, I was in love with you."

"...Fiz, when I was getting my magic, you told me it would be strange to only have one type, yeah?"

She nodded, her ears flopping.

"What else do you have?"

"Light, Life, and Distortion," She stated calmly. "You've seen me use most of it, though. And I can't use Light without my staff."

"Kuro, you have Ancient magic?"

"I specialize in Shadow, Heart, Psy, and Sound," She boasted. "But I can use anything other than Light."

"And I have Electric, False, and Psy," I tapped my chin. "How can we use it?"

"We need that staff, yes? We'll want to use Distortion and False to mask our approach. I'll try to use Shadow to weaken the hands - but I won't be able to take control of them from Nyx," Kuro explained.

"Fiz, what should we do from there?" I asked. The bunny simply grinned at me.

"I have an idea, Thomas."

I stepped out from behind the shield, and found that the ground was wet with shadow - like walking in a kiddie pool, but with much less child urine. I drew my sword and leveled it at Nyx.

"You're not going to win, you know."

"Oh? You and what any? A single rabbit, and a disobedient puppet?" She asked, her voice echoing.

"And me, some random college student," I smiled, stepping out from behind myself. Kuro and I were using false magic to surround Nyx in Thomas... Thomases? Thomæ?

She was surrounded by identical copies of myself, each one the exact same. She reached out, her arm elongating in the darkness, to grab me. I slashed at her hand, leaving several wounds, before she grabbed me and began to squeeze.

"Wrong one!" We all cheered gleefully. The duplicate suddenly caught fire, casting an admittedly faint light over her hand and causing her to recoil.

"Clever children... but which one of you is real?" Nyx smiled eerily.

Kuro stepped out from behind the shield, encircling the dark being and laughing sadistically for a moment before throwing several darts at her - all burning.
