There was a loud sound from outside that interrupted Dyhart before he could explain anything further.

Fiz and Emi both turned around, probably looking directly towards the sound's source.

"What was that?" Dyhart asked, glaring at the window.

"Sounded like the world's biggest shirt getting ripped in half," Luna noted, standing up and walking to the front door. She opened it, revealing stormy weather outside. The sky was a staticky gray, with heavy wind.

"... it looks almost like a tornado..." Emi said, picking up Luna's cell phone. "But there's no warning for it."

Fiz bounced past Luna and stood outside for several moments, looking around.

There was another ripping sound. It wasn't booming in volume, but rather almost... omnipresent?

Fiz's eyes widened. "That one came from above us!" She said, running out to the street and looking up. Emi, Luna, Dyhart and I followed her, and saw a strange... something in the sky. It looked kind of like the mottled color of the clouds had been shredded up into paper strips? Almost like actual TV static.

Then it elongated and began slowly moving to the side, like a massive slug, dragging itself through the sky, over the street.

"Everyone in the van!" Luna called out, running inside and retrieving a small bag and tossing it to the taller rabbit girl. "Emi in the back, Dyhart in shotgun!"

We all scrambled into the car, Fiz looking just as confused as I felt.

"What's going on?" She asked as the van rumbled to life. In the sky above us, the static was picking up speed as it wobbled through the air, now waving like a snake.

"No clue, but it looks like something magical and weird!" Luna said.

"Maybe the magic you and Emi use to disguise yourselves caught something's attention?" Dyhart suggested, leaning his head out the window. "It's turning right, Luna!"

Luna nodded, speeding up. The wind had gone silent, though it was clearly blowing harder than before.

Fiz clung to my arm, looking somewhat nervous. I smiled softly and kissed her nose.

The car suddenly came to a screeching halt, causing everyone to yelp.

"What's going on?" Emi called back, sounding agitated.

"No idea! We crossed into an old abandoned lot, and the car stopped dead!"

Emi stepped out of the car and furrowed her brow. "Guys, look at this."

We all stepped out of the car and looked to the sky. Above us was a massive, round, staticky hole in the clouds, with a single curved line going through it - making it look like a pair of curved teardrops pressed together.

Then, with a flourish of an unfamiliar string instrument, white and black lightning struck the ground below the center of the circle - about 20 feet away from us.

Ooooh what's going on??

Sorry if the Starlit Wilds bit felt like a fake out, but it was really just here to add a few more chapters of down time before this happened.

Hopefully I'll update more soon!
