"Ahh their here!" Toa* couldn't help the laughter that left her mouth. She smiled at her grandchild that opened the door.
"Dolphin!" Raburi** called out as Iruka jumped into her arms.
"Hi hi hi Meema! Ami!"
"You're getting heavy Dolphin. These old bones won't be able to carry you soon."
"Ma you are not that old,"
"Oh come on Shou. Don't have to be such a party pooper." Behind Shouta, the two women noticed a kid hidden behind.
"You aren't going to introduce us to the little starshine Shou?"
"Oh oh Izu! These are Meema and Ami. Meema Ami this is Izu, my best friend!"
"Hello Izu, my name is Yamada Toa, you can call me Ami or just Toa if you like." Toa crouched down to Izuku's height. Raburi introduced herself as well but Izuku didn't do much other than nod in acknowledgement.
"Dad says Izu can be shy sometimes," Iruka explains as they walk into the house. Toa hums as they walk in. She sees Hizashi dancing with a green-haired lady.
"Hizashi, Inko, they're here," Shouta drawled as he joined his husband and friend in the kitchen.

Iruka, Izuku and Raburi sat outside looking through pamphlets that were strewn on the floor.
"Alright squirts, where shall we go this year?"
"Are we going to go to the temple again like last year?"
"Sure we can Dolphin. Izuku anywhere you want to go?"
"Me and mom don't really do much. We always eat mochi and soba together though."
"Papa says we're having Osechi Ryori*** tomorrow."
"How about after the adults make preparations we all head out."
"Out where Rabu-san?"
"Now that's a surprise," Raburi placed a finger to her mouth.

"Ne Papa! Look what Ami got me and Izuku!" Iruka came rushing in, Izuku holding her hand, wearing matching kimono with the other.
Their kimono was a gradient of green from the ends that bled into a blue purple. Stars and flowers trail around the garment. Their obi is a light blue to match.
"Took forever to get em in it," Shouta huffed rounding the corner, Inko just behind him, giggling.
"Thank you so much for these Toa-san,"
"It was Ri's idea really. I couldn't not see it happen."
"If you lot are done chitter chattering away lets head out!" The kids cheered as they rushed Raburi opened the door and they all went out.

The sun had dipped into the horizon for the last time that year. They travelled just outside of the city. A lake that let you see the reflection of the stars above. Toa and Hizashi laid out a few blankets, Izuku and Iruka placing rocks on the corner so it wouldn't get blown around. Inko, Shouta and Raburi helped set out the different foods that they had bought.
"Ne look at all the shiny uh- ano-"
"Stars Iruka, they're stars."
Raburi, Hizashi and Inko talked about the upcoming year. Plans of the future. Shouta and Toa listened on.
A new year. Every year was a new one. Shouta couldn't really ask for much. He had his husband, his amazing daughter and his parents.
"Izuku, Iruka, come drink this Milo I brought,"
He had Inko. Forever wonderful Inko. He reminded him of an old friend (a friend he wasn't ready to remember).
"Iruka think you'd prefer to wear your headphones when it's time,"
The struggles of the past year. The many before that wouldn't be forgotten. When he looked back to his family he smiled. So many struggles he had been able to fight through because of them and many more. Because of himself as well (even f he didn't admit it).
"Ne Meema, what time is it?"
"Almost time Dolphin,"
"Time?"
The sky lit up with so many colours.
"For that kiddo," Iruka looked up.
Sparkles and pops. The fizz as each colour faded to allow a new one to light the sky.
"HAPPY NEW YEAR!" The adults cheered.
Ya, Shouta is content with this. With his family, moving into a new year.

Was that ending out of pocket? Oh ya absolutely.
Ngl I started writing this like 3 days before new years and it stressed me to no end so appologies if it isn't exactly up to standard.
It hit exactly new year when I finished which got me highkey excited.
It's been a tough year for me and maybe for many of you and that might've reflected in the last bit with Shouta. It's been tough but I'm cheering all of you on Lovies
I got super busy over the past 2 weeks and will continue to be busy due to unforeseen circumstances so it'll be a rocky road for the PHA updating schedule. It'll still stay a consistent 1 chapter 2 weeks so thank you for being patient with me through all this.
Okok enough ramble. Hope you all had a lovely New Years Eve and do tell me if you have any new years tradition of your own.
