Adoption. It has been an option ever since the Akiyama's were found guilty of abuse amongst other things. Shouta just wasn't sure how to tell the kid. So here he was staring at the documents before him. All of which were filled and signed. He didn't need to ask permission from the kid due to Iruka's age but he felt she needed that choice of freedom. To know she had options.

Iruka had been staying with them for almost 3 months now (including the time she stayed at the hospital because they had barely left her side) and Shouta would be lying if he said he hadn't gotten attached. Even now he could hear her happy giggles from the kitchen as she helped Hizashi cook dinner. His mind was made up when Iruka came running in (knocking beforehand of course) to tell him dinner was ready.

"Iruka we have something important to tell you,"

"What?" Well, Shouta wasn't one to usually stall but right now it was tempting.

"If you wanted to, me and Hizashi would love for you to be our daughter, legally."

"What's le-lega-ly?"

"Legally listener. It means when someone like the police were to ask who your parents were, you would tell them it's us. And if someone asked us who our daughter is we'd say it's you. Does that make sense?" Iruka shook her head.

"It means no matter what you'll stay with us, kiddo. We won't get separated and you can stay here forever."

"Forever is a long long longggg time," Iruka said, her hands stretching wide.

"That's right. Do you want to stay with us for a long long longggg time?" Hizashi stretched his arms out just as wide.

Iruka tapped her fingers as she thought. She had learned about families just a week ago. She learned about mothers and fathers. Sisters and brothers. She didn't quite understand it but she liked it. She liked Mr Zawa and Mr Zashi. She did want to stay with them for a long long time.

"Ya. Ya I wanna stay for a longggg time." Shouta didn't hesitate to get up and pull the kid into a hug. Hizashi was soon wrapping them both in a hug, Iruka giggling happily between them.

"We would love to have you for a long time Iruka,"

==========

"Bye bye Papa!" Iruka waved Hizashi off. The name she started calling him only a few days prior rolled right off her tongue and Hizashi almost couldn't hold back his tears.

Gosh, he was a father now. Well legally speaking. If you asked Hizashi, he's been a father since the day Iruka got her name.

His smile never left his face all day. Even through all the paperwork. Even through the destruction, his students caused. Even through the villains, he fought with during patrol because he knew he'd go home to his loving partner and oh so wonderful amazing daughter.

==========

Katsuki stared at his newest classmate. He was confused and downright frustrated. Why did she hang around Izu-Deku? Why did she want to hang out with quirkless Deku and not him? Didn't she see no one liked Deku, why couldn't she be the same? No one is going to like her if she kept hanging out with Deku. Katsuki wanted to like her but she was scared of him. She always looked scared when Katsuki would say bad words or when he started yelling. She never looked scared when it came to Deku though. Stupid fucking Deku. Stupid Iruka. Stupid quirkless people.

No matter how much Katsuki looked at Iruka, she never looked his way the same way she did Deku. She never defended him the way she would protect Deku. Why did Deku take her? Why did Deku get to be friends with Iruka? Why didn't Iruka want to be friends with him?

No matter how much Katsuki pushed Izuku around, insulted him, or berated him, Iruka never turned his way. Iruka never talked to him with any of the care she did with Deku. So he hit Deku harder. He helped the others beat him black and blue. He helped cause Deku hell because he was the reason Iruka would never look his way.

He never laid a hand on Iruka though. Not because she was a girl, that was bullshit. Anyone who didn't know their place needed to learn and Katsuki would teach them. Never Iruka though. Katsuki never went after her, not even when she continued to defend Deku. In turn, no one went after Iruka either, at least not to the extent Deku was.

Still, Katsuki never stopped. Deku thought he could be a hero. Deku thought he could keep Iruka away from him. Well, Katsuki would show him. Deku will understand the bullshit he's done one day.

Hello Lovies~!

So sorry for the late post, honestly I completely forgot to post yesterday. Regardless here is your chapter!

I absolutely loved how I wrote Katsuki's POV and would greatly appreciate your feedback or just general thoughts on it.

It seems my posting schedule always manages to either barely avoid exam season or is dead center of it. Also yes this is my way of telling you exams are coming close. The next time I post will be on the 20th of May and I don't intend to change that so stick around for that.

Thank you so so so much for spending the time in the day to read this fic. If you enjoyed reading it as much as I did writing it, leave a vote and/or comment.

Have a lovely day, night, weekend (or week), whenever, wherever you are.

Stay safe, you're loved.

Bye Lovies~
